Even if lifetime Plat was an error, it was supposed to have been something (1 year? longer, who knows!) But to say its value is $0 is illogical...
Why do you assume that? With SPG and Hyatt I haven't paid tax on a free night.
If I lived in SFO, perhaps.
At $310 I don't see any need to bother going to SFO assuming they will honor the Plat status without staying.
