200 drunken students have 'mass brawl' and rampage on ferry to Calais I've crossed the Channel many times and (fortunately) have not had this happen!
This does not surprise me. Every time I go to the UK there seem to be drunken people in the streets all night, and the British who go to Paris are even worse.
UK enjoys it's over indulging. Soccer hooligans also get a bit out of control for every country. If you look hard enough you'll find people from all ages a bit "consumed" when traveling so best to not pin just UK down. I was in Greece once and 20 drunken Germans were marching in 30C weather in boots on the beach singing and laughing. In that heat we figured whoever went on vacation and was wearing speedos with boots and sings must be drunk!
