I deposited three certificates from May 1st-5th and promptly received the confirmation emails. Checked my account on the 10th and it appeared that none of the certificates had posted so I sent an email requesting the credit through the secure message center. Received a message back apologizing for the delay and they would credit the 900 points manually. Logged in to my account today and was looking over my May statement and it turns out that the original 900 points did in fact post to my account on May 6th, but they posted under my Amex Blue along with a few BonusMall bonuses. So if any of you have multiple cards and had to request the credits manually you may want to look at your other cards. I ended up with 1800 points for three certificates and still have a few more to deposit, I need to plan another trip soon so I can collect a few more!
If I understand correctly, you could do a mileage run via ATL, hit 8 Delta clubs prior to the departure, and then hit same again for a total of 16 hits x 300 = earn 4800 MR.
Welcome to MP. I just gave you your first like on your first post. Yes, and in addition if you pick a destination with lounges, you could visit those (for example, DTW has four) plus the lounge at your origin airport, perhaps MEM, MSY, RDU, etc. In total, RDU-ATL-DTW-ATL-RDU could get you 22 certs. I'm sure some experts can improve on this, for instance by doing a double connection, perhaps with JFK for a bunch more lounges.
I didn't have to ask. I went to the SC in BOS after my flight home to "freshen up" and she just handed me two.
Are you sure? At some point, I thought that all regular Plat cards were signed up for free. Is there a reason you can't sign up now?
I don't have a Plat card. I have the DL Reserve. I just asked as I left to see what the results would be. I have no use for the certificate.
Separately, I checked my MR account - and all of the points from my lounge visits (including a multi-coupon visit at FLL) are posted. They are buried in with some other activity, however. (I have to click on a transaction on the transaction register page to then see the underlying detail of the credit, which includes several vouchers.) At present, it seems there isn't any reconciling number of swipes of the card at the lounge with the number of coupons redeemed on each account.
Lounge Dragon's pulled one over on me. It was sitting on the counter when I asked for one. Apparently someone already used it and dropped it back there.
I've gotten 4 of these certs and had to ask for them 3 times - glad I got the heads up on here or I would have lost out on 900 MR points!
I flew LGA-FLL again this morning and picked up 3 coupons - 2 at LGA, 1 at FLL (I stop in the club to refresh after my flight .) In each instance, I had to ask for the voucher. In addition to my Platinum card, I also have a Reserve card. At each of the three clubs I was not offered a coupon, forcing me to ask at each one (despite presenting my Platinum card when I arrived). The dragons all said "you have a reserve card so you don't need platinum." I responded with that I wanted to access the club using the platinum card and then asked for the voucher. I got one in all three cases, but it took a it of work this time. No opportunity to ask for a few extras, like I had two weeks ago. At the legacy-NW club at LGA, the dragon had to hunt to find the vouchers. They were buried away on her desk. Now if these were only MQMs...
2 more at PBI this evening. Visited the lounge...and got one (only upon my request). Then left to board the flight (lounge monitors didn't show the flight as delayed)...but turns out it was delayed...so back to the club! Checked in with a different dragon who gave me a coupon when I presented my Amex card (offered without my request). Alas, I don't think LGA's SCs will be open when I land there tonight...I would like to freshen up. I will try for sure. Maybe there will be some sufficiently delayed departures warranting staying open late! Picking up at least 1,500 extra points on a 2-day, 2,000 mile total journey is great!
Picked up 4 more on a roundtrip over the holiday weekend - could not pull off 8 clubs in ATL each way as my toddler kept me very busy!
Got one in the ATL E-14 SC last week (small one on E), agent was very friendly & gave me the certificate without asking. We chatted a little after I joked that I was bummed the big club wasn't open yet to get 2 certificates. Turns out she's been w DL for 45 years in various jobs! (sorry I can't remember her name) She's been in the SC 3 years I believe, worked a long time as a liaison w travel agents (fixing other people's problems as she put it). She said she's the #2 employee in terms of seniority, #1 female employee. If you're on a certificate run, look for her, she wears a widget lapel pin w 3 emeralds in it (for 15 years x 3) works day shift & was a pleasure to meet if you haven't already.
No matter how much I like points, I could not see myself doing a lounge run with my kids. 300 miles, even at an aggressive 9 cents per mile valuation (the highest CPM value I've achieved for miles - including once on DL - which is admittedly not likely to re-occur), just wouldn't be worth it. I put my money where my mouth is on this. I pay $200 for AA five star when I travel with the full family just to lighten the burden of travelling en mass. Now if it was just my oldest son, maybe we'd do it - as a sort of quest to kill time - but no way with a toddler.
I was able to pick up 11 in my SLC-ATL-MKE-DTW-DCA trip yesterday. Now I need to make sure some of my previous ones are posting correctly... I can't tell from my MR statements....
