Great report. Thank you for sharing with the rest of us.

Would you think its worth staying at the Marina Bay Sands, or is it better to stay elsewhere and just visit for restaurants and maybe the casino?

While I'm sure it has its appeal to some, I don't think I'd want to stay there. Too many people around. I prefer more of a sanctuary, and everything it has to offer on a drop-in basis. :)

Thank you for the enjoyable report. It reminds me of previous experience and makes me longing for traveling again in front cabin. :)

I found the same procedure at LH FCL in FRA for example, or Maple Leaf Lounge at YYZ recently.
By having the BP, the staff will know who is in that shower no. 3 for example. Just in case, the pax takes shower too long and almost misses the plane, then the staff know where to find you. :) Or else, the staff would know who are naughty in the shower room. ;) ;) :D

When you enter the lounge, usually the staff will slide your BP in the computer. It will give info that you are waiting for the flight in this particular lounge. Then, the staff will memorize the face or the name or anything that make them easier to recognize you. That's why the representative from SQ can just ask the lounge staff whether you are in that lounge, and yes where she could locate you at the lounge.
I must admit that the staff at NH F lounge at NRT Satellite 4 are great in remembering. I remember I was not traveling through NRT for couple of months. When I was there again, they remember me when I just passed the entrance door.

I agree that the meals ex-Japan are better. And yes the new kyo-kaiseki offered by SQ looks more appetising than years ago...

    Cheers!

LH FCL/FCT shower attendants never take my BP. I just write my name in the book.

Agreed they have never taken by boarding pass, either.

Thanks much for the kudos, it was a fun trip! :)

I've got 2 more planned in CX F coming up that should make for good reports, more for the hotels than for the flights...

Marvelous trip report!!! You've just covered almost every questions I've had about my upcoming travels.. :)

Now you made me very excited and anxious on trying all these airlines for my RTW travels next year!!! :D

But for the time being I'd have to be satisfied with my CX F flight next month I suppose.. :p

    Cheers!

Always nice to see SQ "old" F - looks like a living room, especially when you're on your own!

I have yet to experience new SQ F. Either on the 77W or the A380. Sure wish they'd open up reward seats at saver pricing... :(

And I've now begun the trip report which includes Conrad Koh Samui... only I cancelled that 32k point per night room to book a 2-bedroom 2000 sq ft two-story ocean pool villa @ 40k points per night :D
