Going to bounce this back to the top since discussion is happening about if we should have one or not.
Yeah. Early on there was massive debate throughout MP about whether social was good for MP or not. The thread is here though as you posted as well and hopefully if the group wants it to work, it will. Every social thread I have been a part of on here has been littered with content as well as social. I expect this if it works will do the same.
If you haven't already, be sure to sign up for the aa.rewardsnetwork bonus now through March 31 to earn 2 extra per dollar. It isn't a lot, but every bit helps.
This is the one route where I have ever gotten an op-up in my life on AA! Decided not to burn 500 milers when I was but a plat, and they upgraded me anyway. Shame it wasn't on a longer flight than LAX-LAS though.
MSP-ORD for me on a flight the three of us took a standby. Was rather nice, but like you say. Too short.
I have a local restaurant that runs 2 for 1 happier hour and includes Sapporo cans. They'll give you the unopened can to go if you don't want to finish it then.
I am done with SFO-ORD MR the thing I missed is Sapporo at AC ORD. I was hoping this lounge provide that here Where is this local restaurant?
URL according to email is http://aa.rewardsnetwork.com/bonus.htm?id=A468&detail=y for anyone just wanting to get there right away to sign up
I feel I need some detox procedures while coming down from the megado. I really don't want to be at work today
All the reports i'm hearing are pretty good. Hopefully they do another one each year. Work on the other hand, is well, a four letter word.
Well, they are having to work on balancing the alliances, since they admit they can't do 3 megado's a year
Good Morning all, I hope you've had a good start to the week...I am mulling over whether I want to go for EXP or not...I should easily make DM this year, so it's not a trade for DM.
EXP is a big leap from Platinum. If you fly on paid business, you can use your SWUs to upgrade to F (and upgrade inventory is relatively good, as it books into A which is also a revenue bucket), and if you fly in paid coach, upgrading to J is possible from any fare (unlike the colossally useless DL upgrades, and slightly less useful and less numerous UA variants). Aside from that, F lounge access on international tickets is quite nice, and great service from your dedicated service desk is a godsend during irregular operations. There are other perks and bennies, but those are the biggest from where I sit.
Especially irregular ops help. That is simply one of the best bennies to have when all He** breaks loose!
Agreed. While everyone else is lining up to talk to a disaffected GA to maybe hope to be reaccommodated in a few hours' time, I'm off to the side on the phone with the Executive Platinum desk (typically through to an agent straight away). They've always been very quick and extremely helpful, more so in both cases than just about anyone I've dealt with in person at an airport.
This is one of the biggest benefits IMHO...especially since most of my flying is in Y across the Pond and I prefer AA over BA.
Yes, Economy Comfort doesn't make up for the near complete uselessness of DL's SWUs. It's too bad as well because their 767 flat beds are fantastic (I abhor their 777 cousins, but I know I'm in the minority on that). AA's 8 SWUs a year just keep me coming back.
