I think I'll actually make a blog post about the lounge, but as you requested..... Sorry for the quality of some of the photos, I took it with an iPhone. Also if you need to see a larger view just click the photo to go to Flickr. The HNL JL/AA lounge is pretty much exactly what you'd expect a domestic AC to be with a few minor quirks. Soup is on offer (today was potato chowder): As well as cookies and snack mix: Drinks include a self-service soda fountain as well as coffee and hot green tea. Liquor selection is below: My meal of potato soup, a bread roll, and a canned cold green tea:
Sorry for the quality of some of the photos, I took it with an iPhone. Also if you need to see a larger view just click the photo to go to Flickr. Some of the unique features of the lounge include.... Massage chairs And Japanese reading material (as well as English as seen here): The dishes being used are still branded as being produced exclusively for American Airlines: Lounge view: Views from the lounge have a small view of the tarmac and then mostly the atrium at the center of HNL:
Something to add that I just discovered.... The restrooms are located outside of the lounge, however, they feature Japanese style toilets complete with bidet and heated seats:
Outside the lounge as in public access? Or just through some doors? Thanks for posting. I will come back later to see the pics (flickr is blocked here)
I guess theoretically public access, though "the public" would have no reason to be there unless going to the lounge. But it's in the hallway leading into the AC and prior to entering the lounge/check-in desk, so the AAngels would have no idea who was using it unless they were watching for it through the limited glass in the door. They were clean though.
Looked empty compared to when I was there last. Was awaiting AA102 just about a month ago, and the lounge was packed!
Via Gary's blog today: OW treats pax connecting on separate tickets better. Bet this applies to quite a few of us. Nice, AA http://boardingarea.com/blogs/viewf...erations-when-connecting-on-separate-tickets/
On MP at least the info was posted in the OW Alliance forum and not on the AA forum, and considering the OW forum's low traffic it's no surprise.
Just got one of those free Regus Businessworld Gold memberships that they've been handing out to AA elites. Won't really benefit from it, so I doubt I'll take the time to active the card. I wonder what criteria they're using to target elites for this? Anyone here get the offer and find use for it?
No idea about Regus. We are not flying AA this year. Or no plans to as of yet. This is a burn year for us. So we're not currently planning to requal AA Platinum.
Gotcha, I thought you were saying you needed to requalify for the Regus card. I'm going to keep EXP this year (so it seems but not 100% yet) but have no use for the free Regus membership being offered.
Got one too. No real use for it, so probably won't activate the card, but may investigate to exactly what they're offering, and what may be hidden that one would still have to purchase. Could turn out to be like the AMEX free TripitPro that was then discontinued, so you had to purchase if you wanted to keep the add'l features.
I got my Regus gold card a couple of years ago, never used it but I guess it's nice to know you can find an office when you need one (!).
Has anyone else struggled with changing their seat assignments on AA.com in the last few weeks? When I view my itineraries and attempt to make changes, I'm allowed to select seats but once I click on the button to complete the assignment I'm given an error screen saying the system is unavailable. At least for me, the system has been "unavailable" for about three weeks now.
