Well, now that she's made a YouTube video about it, I assume we won't be allowed to use our iPads on board any more, based on what happened with the soldiers making the video about checked bags.
Wow. Right, so, assuming it wasn't child porn, the man with the iPad should learn the definition of the word discretion. However, lecturing this man about your social mores and beliefs otherwise unsolicited is also wrong. EDIT: Ms. Hawkins (and any offended pax) should have focused on how uncomfortable the pornography made her and that the material on the iPad (again, if it was legally produced) is inappropriate in a public setting where minors may view it. Then firmly request he discontinue viewing it. And appropriately escalate with the crew if the first FA is non-responsive.

In flight porn is a sure way to get a rise out of the other passengers! (ba-DUM-dum!) Seriously though, I am self concious when i am watching a movie on my tablet that isn't porn, but has lots of nudity and/or violence. This is just beyond the pale-- you need porn so much you can't last a flight without it? Sad-- if it was child porn, well, then worse things should happen to this guy. I am suspicious that the complainant was someone from Morality in Media. I mean, that's just too perfect.
Cue my embarrassment on a flight in LX F with the large LCD's. I'd connected my own media player via USB and was watching Thomas Crowne Affair. FA brings dessert and I pause the movie during the one sex scene. FA clearly noticed. Felt very awkward. And I'm no prude.
Sounds like a non-incident drummed up for publicity and donations. Note that she doesn't have any footage of the incident, and that the video she made is her side of the story when back on the ground. I somehow doubt that the FA was helpless to stop what is actually a very serious crime (possession/traffic in child pornography); they've diverted planes for far less. (So, per mtkeller we can still take our iPads onboard. And so some not-too-bright bulbs "attacked her" by... making mocking youtube videos. That there are oddballs and numbskulls on youtube is not news.
In the guys defense he was probaly watching "Debbie Does Dallas" and doing travel research for his upcoming stay.....
I don't watch the in flight movies, I only see the i things that persons are viewing when I head to, and returning from the lav, or getting another Jack and water. I only work on a PC, until the battery goes dead, and would be lost trying to watch a flick, and when that battery isn't with me anymore, whip out the bride's little i thingy that plays music, lean back, and enjoy a bit of Yanni. Hope that is G rated enough for the Pax around me.
I'm with you on this. Dirty [young] man though I may be, I am not comfortable watching what I consider to be unnecessarily titillating or violent movie/tv scenes in a public place. I'll save it for home, my hotel room or an Emirates First Suite.
I have an Ex named Debbie, and we had been through DFW a few times, is that what you mean?? Don't recall any 'Green Doors' on the trams though.
But depending on where you are flying to or from in the middle east getting, caught in your suite could have dire consequences!
