The Aloft Brussels is a great Aloft. It's actually nicer than the Sheraton Brussels.

No, it's 1 yr old. But they do a good job of appealing to all types of travelers

Yes they are! But they require payment upfront :)

Oh.... well then that sounds like the place to stay (for me) rather than the Aloft.

BTW, was very impressed with all the Aloft openings in China.... I guess Starwood wants a big piece of the high-end business travel biz in China...

I stayed at Aloft in downtown MSP and near ONT (Ontario California). No problem for this oldtimer.
I just noticed that there are no Aloft properties in EZE. ;)

That's the vibe I get from them as well. Four Points are typically not the starwood options that I choose, but the starwood options I accept in the pursuit of *wood stays or nights. I'm also not a fan of the Four Points toiletries' scent.

More time plus a laptop to type, means more excess aloft blathering from me.

I like the aloft concept, and generally like the hotels. I can't imagine focusing too many stays on them as I think the vibe would get tiresome, but they're a nice change of pace. The rooms are small but extremely functional. The lobby area is what it is. The staff sometimes seem to be selected to fit the desired image and are sometimes more eager than well-trained. I've had a few more minor service issues at aloft vs. other brands.

Nah I have to stay based on a sample of on one, Aloft Hadian, Beijing, the brand leaves me cold. Maybe at 38 I'm not the right demographic.

Speaking of Aloft... do stays post to SPG accounts any later than other brands...? All my Sheraton and Four Points stays credited to my account within 48 hours but its been 5 days since I stayed at the San Antonio Airport Aloft and this stay has still not credited.... booked on spg.com so I cant understand why it would have not posted...

    ?????

IME the Minneapolis W and aloft don't suffer from as much of the same staff attitude problems as in other properties of these brands. I'm not saying they don't self select and get some folks with the "we're too cool to do anything useful, are you cool enough to be here" approach to customer service, but the problem seems worse in other locations. Maybe they're Minnesota nice here, even at W and aloft.

I've only stayed at one Aloft and a couple of W's. Supposedly, the Aloft is the cheaper version of the W? I can't stand the W's (they seem to try too hard), but I quite like the Aloft.

Gee I might be older than many posting here and I bet I have stayed at 15 or so W properties and frankly I just dont quite understand the sort of dislike some here or elsewhere have for the brand.
Perhaps I have enough self-concidence not to pay that much attention to hotel staff or guests for that matter providing the dont intrude too much on my space.
