I'm on a flight now but thinking of booking one of the BNA Radissons for tonight after landing ... Ended up with a $60.20+tax cash and 5,000 points rate, will still net almost 50k points with the online booking bonus.

Will they retroactive you the elite points?
  3. JosephMay Gold Member

Doesn't look that way. it was only going forward from the time they approved the application. Not really a big deal only a few thousand points at best. Still have one or two stays planned.

For anyone planning a visit to a Park Plaza as part of their promotion, TopCashBack is now offering 10% CB on stays booked through TCB using the Park Plaza link. Just booked a pair of rooms in Berlin for me and the wife next month for ~$69 ea. :)

Thanks for this. Will have to take wifey on a tour of Berlin next month then :D

Anyone here willing to check in for me at Park Plaza & Country Inn & Suites ? :D ;)

Thanks for both of your replies. Poor wording of their promotion, so glad I asked. Going to have to completely rearrange reservations for that weekend now.

Last time I had a reservation that wouldn't have counted and had to move it forward a little bit, so I know how it feels :)
  6. wrxmom Gold Member

Bummer there isn't any retroactive, but at least now you have status. :)

One other question - I believe I have seen someone confirm this is ok before, but just in case:
I just made a qualifying booking with the best avail. rate, in fact made 2 bookings with different room types and found lower rates elsewhere for both and have submitted Best Rate guarantee claims for each. If either claim gets approved, it doesn't affect the eligibility of the stay to qualify for points and this bonus, correct? I plan on keeping whichever room ends up getting me the best final rate.

Rooms with BRG claims are eligble.

The last of our 50,000 pt promo stays, the Hotel Altstadt (Radisson Blu) in Salzburg was the most amazing! I got status matched to Club Carlson gold from my free Hyatt Gold Passport, and we got put in the Kaiser Suite for our two nights there (paying 10,000 points and 68E a night). My husband was agog at the room (we had our own little roof deck that looked over the Isar river and up at the 11th century fortress) and it was great.

Has anyone received their Topcashback for their Radisson/Country Inn/Park Inn stays?

I did my Radisson stay during the SMD4 launch, and this message on TCB has appeared for a while -
"Bookings completed between May 31 and June 21 may be declined. If your transaction does not uplift once your stay has been completed please accept our apologies and be assured that we are working hard to resolve this matter for valid transactions. If you have experienced this, please do not worry. Simply send us a ticket via your account and we will give you an update."

My Pending shows as $8.90, but my Payable is $0.00.

My Country Inn transaction went payable a few weeks ago.

    Welcome, Joseph May.
You have 163,059 points. | Silver Elite

3 stays so far. Managed to get the Park Place Bloomington, MN (nice people and staff) on the tail end of a Vegas trip. This weekend I will be at the Park Inn to make it 4/4. To some extent I think Club Carlson was very smart as I'm now considering adding their properties to my list of hotels. I really thought some of the properties represented excellent value.

Could someone answer a question for me.... When you book a room with cash and points-Do you earn points for the cash portion of the room? If I paid $80 and 5,000 miles for the room would I earn $80 * 20points per dollar =1600 points for my stay? plus obv 2k (silver for booking etc)

    You are supposed to, yes.
  12. JosephMay Gold Member

thanks Larry.... everything good with you?
  13. LarryInNYC Silver Member

    All good, except:

    - having trouble collecting points (and therefore the bonus) on a Park Inn stay in Milan.

    - missed the RGN first class bonanza which, as it turns out, I could have actually used.

    - missed today's 4-mile special (although I doubt people will actually fly those tickets).
  14. JosephMay Gold Member

Want to join me and the mrs at the Park Inn in Harrisburgh - We'll be there this weekend.

    RGN really?

And I didn't even bother with the 4 miler. no way they will honor that. All that will happen is I'll get all giddy about the booking and then be dissapointed when it isn't honored. Like I was for the Vayama $500 Tokyo that I signed up for earlier this year...... booked, selected seats, then had the ticket revoked.

Well 4/4. Radisson, Country Inn, Park Plaza, and this past weekend Park Inn.
The Park Inn was at Mechanicsburg, PA. (Harrisburg, PA suburb.) It was basically a very large motel with outside facing rooms. Staff was super super nice but rooms were, to put it kindly "tired." Bed was perhaps the worst I've encountered in a long time felt like i' was sleeping on spings only. Matress topper would have made a huge difference. Sheets, bedding and towels were clean. Bed skirt was torn and there were plenty of hairs (not mine, i'm bald) on the bathroom floor. Glad my stay was for only 1 night. I do hope the Radisson properties outside of the US are nicer.
Ate at a restaurant called "Bricco" in Harrisburg. Exceptional and reasonable. Would rate it a 10+. Highly recommended.

    So,
Radisson Nashua, NH 6th floor rooms was a winner.
Park Plaza, Bloomington, MN was ok+
Country Inn Millville, NJ Not Good
Park Inn Harrisburg, PA Not Great.could be borderline ok with better beds.

I used the Radisson Edwardian London Heathrow and the Park Inn Charles de Gaulle for these offers...while I like the points, neither of these properties would motivate loyalty IME. I will post reviews eventually!

    :)

@rwoman - Can't wait to read..... I really want to like Radisson.
So for anyone following this thread -
Which properties do you deem superior value or extra nice?

Park Plaza Beijing Wangfujing was one we particularly liked. If you are in the market for Country Inns & Suites, I thought Sunnyvale, CA was a great example.

Yes, that Country Inn & Suites in Sunnyvale is a stand-out! That was the first Country Inn & Suites I ever stayed in, and no other has been as awesome as that one. Their front-desk staff is so friendly and helpful, and their breakfast is great.
