St Regis is very nice, especially as a plat :D

I would pick the St Regis at those prices, certainly over the W and SGS. If you want to economize you can also try the Plaza Athenee, which is also a Meridien brand. If you are Platinum you will get full breakfast in the restaurant and it is pretty awesome.

Even if the rest have C&P redemption you believe the St. Regis is worth it?

One of the best value St Regis in the world. I would do it with my wife, but not if alone.

Yes, but we stayed in 4 different Starwood Hotels in Bangkok and loved everyone for different reasons. So, perhaps you should look at location and see which is best for you.

I've stayed at all the Bangkok properties... and for one night, I recommend the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit. It generally gives me a suite upgrade and is connected to the train station. Breakfast is as good as any I've had anywhere - and is generally included in the rate. You can eat outdoors by a cute pool area or in one of two indoor restaurants (one crowded, the other less so). They also offer free drinks while you listen to jazz each night (for Platinums).

You dont want to stay at the Royal Orchid for 1 night. Hard to get around from there - that is more of a respite from the city if you are staying in BK for more nights. It does have nice river views however.

St Regis is beautiful - and also connected to train. If you can find a better rate than Sheraton Grande when you are going, it's not a bad choice. Would be my 2nd. But it's a little too pretentious for my taste.

I also would not choose the Athenee. It's older, breakfast buffet isnt as good and it is a decent walk to the train as compared to the other 2 properties.

For one night, the Sheraton Grande is the closest to the airport. Enjoy!

I have stayed at all the SPG properties in BKK multiple times and the one that has the best value for me is the LM. I know my way around BKK very well so the location for me is easy to get to, but if this is your first time you can't go wrong with SGS. The St Regis is fine but I take the LM because as a Plat I always get a suite, free breakfast and the creative hour of free drinks at the bar.
