Don't sign up if you already have the BA card from the last 100,000 offer. I tried signing up and I got the pending message.

I decided to call CSR and was told that I was declined and was ineligible for the offer since I already have an existing BA card. I asked if I could cancel and reopen or upgrade my existing account, but the rep mentioned that the offer only extends to folks that never had a Chase BA card.

No love for existing cardholders. Damn, I was really looking forward to churning this card, but no luck :(

I hope someone else will have better luck churning...

Quite a good chance, so long as Chase is otherwise willing to approve you. I've had several Chase cards for years. Last year when I got the BA card, and again last week when I applied for the CO card, I simply had to move some credit line from another card to get approval. In fact with the CO card they called me to initiate the CL move in exchange for approval.

If you don't get instant approval (which often doesn't happen for whatever reason), and want to be proactive, you can call 1-800-945-2006 to check the status..it may say "2 week wait" for a decision. Don't worry. Call Chase lending services at 888-609-7805 - this is where you can speak to someone about moving CL if necessary or negotiate reconsideration if you've been told you would not be approved.

My experience with the reconsideration call is, if your application is still "pending", they may or may not look into your app when you call. It depends on how busy they are. With the BA card last year, the lady pulled my app and worked it on the spot. With the CO card, she said they were really backed up and to just wait and I'd be contacted.

When you say "each year" is that calendar year? Or anniversary year from the day you get the card?

    It's per calendar year.

btw, I wonder what's up with the increase to $95 for the annual fee. Our cards just renewed at the old $75 rate so I'm surprised they didn't jack it up for our renewal, too (not complaining though!)

Last fall an email survey went out from Chase/BA asking opinions about the current card and also about hypothetical improvements/additional perks. We of course were asked not to divulge details and to be honest I don't recall much specifically. Earning rate increases, other bonuses, maybe some club access - that sort of stuff. Along with that were questions about hypothetical annual fee levels compared to the increased benefits.

I'm wondering if there could be some card improvements coming...though if that were the case, why not advertise them now with this offer? Most likely just a fee bump with nothing more in return.

Hmm, so if you are applying for the card now, you only have less than 8 months to spend $30,000 to get the partner ticket.

Makes the offer a little less attractive if you are not planning on keeping the card for beyond a year.

I just got the Chase OnePass card about a month ago. Can I get this one also?

    Chase has no such policy.

I would say "likely". However, you will probably not get instant approval. If you do not, call a Chase credit analyst at: 888-245-0625. Be prepared to state what a wonderful person you are, that you always pay on time, have great credit (don't bother if you are maginal), and most important: suggest that they can move part of one of your other Chase limits over to this card.

    Good luck.

What do you consider marginal credit - 700? 720? 750?

Not this card, but I got a Chase CO card at the end of January, and then a Hyatt card in early March. Didn't have to call/move credit lines around -- the Hyatt card was automatically (though not instantly) approved with a line of 1k less than the CO card.

Hopefully they'll give me this one too toward the end of the application period... I'll give them some extra spend in the interim and hopefully incur some good will. ;)

Certainly below 700. You should have no problem above 750. In between, YMMV. Personally I would not apply if my credit were below 750. But that is just me. Anybodyelse?

Why the heck not? Below 680 be worried ... above that, definitely give it a shot.

Regardless of your credit rating, you need to have responsiblity for whatever credit was extended to you. As long as it is used responsiblity, you have a shot.

I was declined for the CO card in Feb, but my credit is above 700 with 3 inquiries on Experian and 2 on Equifax (Chase sometimes pulls Equifax for my region) in the past 6 months, do I stand a chance?

That will teach you guys a lesson for forgetting to join the Union and also for starting that healthcare program that we have to keep hearing about during our 3.5 year election periods. :D

Applied both for myself and the wife. Both of us are 720+ credit score and got the pending message. Will call the 800 numbers and see if I have any luck. Thanks for the contacts PanAm!

Update: no luck on the phone calls. The first number said wait 2 weeks. Called the 2nd number twice and both times they said that they have no other info except pending verification.

Uggg, got the chase 50k about a month ago so I probably have to sit this one out. I'll wait and see if a hard pull drops off my credit report and then reconsider because this is such a fantastic deal. Then, if I get rejected due to "too many recent inquiries" I'll go the route of asking them if they'd considering splitting my CO limit between my CO and BA cards...decisions, decisions...

Thanks so much for these numbers PanAm.

I have never had a Chase card before, but I wanted the BA card and also the CO card before they disappear. I applied for both online at the same time using different browsers, with BA slightly in front to make sure that if only one was approved it was that one. BA was approved, and CO got the message about being unable to approve immediately.

I called the first number, and it said both apps were pending and to wait for written decision in 7-10 business days. I was a little worried that my second application had spooked them and my BA app was now in danger of being denied. I called the second number. The rep clarified that my BA application was still approved, but the review process was for setting up account numbers, credit line, etc. She then looked up the CO application, and said I was denied for too many recent inquiries with Chase, even though these were my first two apps with Chase ever. I asked about a reconsideration or appeal, and she asked a few more detailed questions about the information on the application. After a couple minutes on hold, she came back and said I was approved for a $5K line on the CO card!

I have been intrigued by the affinity card game for several years, but now thanks to ingy, gleff, and everyone else here at MP, I've gotten started to the tune of 150K miles! Thank you all.

I am waiting for some time to pass before I apply because I just got a Chase Sapphire in March. I don't have a BA FF account yet and I will open one before applying for the card. Does BA currently have any new member/sign up bonus for their FF program?

I received a targeted email offer for this even though I did the 100k signup last time. Think I have any shot??
