Can you book a JL Codeshare flight (KE) using AA miles?

    While planing/researching my next trip ... I wanted to get from ICN to KIX. To my surprise I couldnt actually find a JL flight from ICN to KIX. Then I looked around some more and found the following.
    JL5120 / JL5212 / JL5214 ... but surprise surprise those flights are actually KE flights (723/725/721)

    I'm not sure if those JL flights would be bookable ... since they're actually KE flights?

    Does anyone know?

    you are looking at the wrong airport. JAL only flies to GMP from KIX.

    They would not be bookable.

    Its pretty straight forward isnt it ? .....if the operating carrier is a not a partner of AA ...one cannot book awards or receive miles on paid tickets for that flight code-share or not.:)

    Even more simple than that is the general rule that codeshare flights are not bookable as awards. There may be a couple exceptions out there somewhere, but that general rule is pretty solid.

    Interestingly one of the exceptions is with AA miles. QF codeshare flights on JQ are bookable for awards.
