What's the point to bidding until the final day?

Will the auction be in this thread or is there some auction software involved?

Tommy, that's too easy. Better give people some positioning challenges

Thanks to all the organizers for giving us all a real chance at a seat, depending on how bad we want to ensure we make the trip, and for getting some donations to a good cause. Looking forward to the auction.

Which is following the contract being signed for the charter, at 6:29:59 on Saturday ;)

Where are the current numbers being posted so we can stay on top of the latest amounts bid?
We could potentially have some seriously big amounts before it closes.

And the organizers likely believe that the 80 seats tied to the international segment won't be an instant sell out. I am guessing otherwise.

Perhaps there should be two bookings sites - one for the 80 international DO seats, and one for the charter only.

At least MP doesn't charge us to bid.

The last TATL was around 40-50 of us. The cost is a lot for some people, so it may not be as close to a sell out as you expect (considering the TATL J wasn't that good a price).

Since we'll be in Washington, will there be a contract signing ceremony, like when the President signs a bill into law?

But this is different - 80 charter seats are reserved for international participants. Coach on the international segment is still an option to reduce cost.

I'm beginning to wonder with all the seats allocated to different groups (e.g., at the party, on the plane) how many will actually be left for people who don't participate in the side projects. One could argue that participating in things like this auction are important and part of what makes a DO a DO, but I still worry about portioning out too many seats.

For the purposes of this exercise, assume you will NOT be able to make the donation directly to LIVESTRONG. We are working on a discrete donation channel for things like this with them, but it's not inked yet.

Oh, and first post updated. A wee bit tired, so I reserve the right to be wrong. Right?

My understanding is 80 are reserved for people on the 'international segment of the megado' not 'people attending the megado who live overseas'.

Ed/Tommy could you please clarify for us? :)

Correct. Purchase a ticket on intl and the first 80 will be guaranteed a seat on domestic. In the past, we've only had a handful of people who wanted to book international but couldn't get on domestic. So, we expect this won't have a big impact on seats normally available since the majority of those people would have bought both anyway.
