Did someone say SIMULATOR? UPDATE!!! WINING BIDS MUST BE MADE BY U.S. CITIZENS: per the requirements of the Flight Centre. A BIG thanks to Jen from AA for securing this! We have 24 slots to pilot a simulator in DFW. Here are the details: DISCLAIMER: You MUST be ticketed on the charter to be part of this experience. 4 groups of 6 people, starting at 7:30 am. Each winning bidder will get 20 minutes of time in the pilot seat, and 40 minutes of observation. All slots are in the 737 simulator. All proceeds will go to Komen. Bidding for this auction is now closed. For those who have bid on the water evacuation, some of the sim slots WILL overlap with the water evacuation. But, you can bid on the early time slots and do BOTH. We will bid each slot separately, with the 3 highest bids in each slot getting to fly. 7:30-8:30 slot: This does NOT conflict with water evac at all. 8:30-9:30 slot: This partially conflicts. The main events will start at 9 am. The simulators are in the same complex, so you should not miss much. 9:30-10:30 slot: This may conflict with your ability to participate in water evac. 10:30-11:30 slot: This may conflict with your ability to participate in water evac.

Just out of curiosity, for those of us who were on SMD3 that are owed SIM time, would there perhaps be the option to get slotted in DFW? Certainly no disrespect to UA, Capt. Jeff, and Capt. Denny, and understanding that the 737 flies and handles differently than the A320 which is one of the available sims in DENTK. But if for time and convenience to the SMD3 sim folks it turns out that DFW is easier to participate rather than a separate trip to DEN, could the handful of us be accommodated?
Having flown an A320 on SMD3, it's time to try the competition. I hate early mornings, but I don't want to miss the water evac, so... 7:30-8:30 $100 8:30-9:30 $75 (backup if I can't get the first slot)
As it stands now, we have significantly less slots with AA than we had with UA on SMD3. Let me ask some questions about if there's a way to work something out.
Unfortunately, no. This is an official thing from AA and they expect the donations to go to Komen. But I'm really disappointed that we haven't closed the Denver thing yet and I will personally follow up with the Jason Dahl scholarship fund to see how we can solve this.
So I guess I should just wire the entire balance of my bank account to Susan G Komen. It is for a very good cause. The MegaDo is making me feel like a little kid at Disneyland about to board an E-Ticket ride. I would like to bid $500 for the early slot of the simulator at 7:30am-8:30am.
You are creating some stiff competition. I am sure the charity greatly appreciates your generosity. Wish I could dig that deep but just not possible at this time.
Wow, E-Ticket rides. Talk about a blast from the past! But if it were really an E-Ticket ride, then the charter flight should be included, since, IIRC, E-Tickets also granted park admission.
