Apologies if it's been mentioned elsewhere but did AA give a reason why the flight sim activity has been restricted to US citizens?
That's a very nice thought, though unnecessary. Not too much of an auction if we're both willing to let the other one take the spot. Let's see how things transpire. As long as we're raising money for charity, I'll be happy.
Teheh, to tell you the truth, I'm a little bit chicken. Buck, buck, buckahhhhh. So, I don't mind giving it up in the long run. Seems to be a popular time spot and well, might as well get someone in who will really appreciates it too And if I had not said anything, I think my prev 427 might have not been noticed. hehe Sometimes I think certain things may be or may not be meant to be. And well, I too am also jumping into the water in the evac It may not be pretty but? It will be fun
NEED PASSPORTS ASAP Guys, I know everyone has busy travel schedules. But, we have to have your passports or you can't participate in the SIM. If you win a spot and don't submit your passport in time, you will not be able to participate!
Thanks for the reply. Seems a strange policy and given that it is a standing policy it was poor form by AA that they didn't make it clear to the organisers from the very beginning seeing it's a Oneworld Megado. I guess that rules out any "foreign" pilots applying for jobs at AA.
No. If you are a winning sim bidder, I need a copy of the info page of your passport to participate in the SIM activity. AA did notify us about this prior to the auction closing but after things got under way. It was our error that we didn't notice the requirement sooner. Guess we could all run down to Dupont Circle in DC for fake passports. Then we'll have a bunch of "birthers" running around asking if our passports are real.
And do they know that other countries have acquired 737 sims? And *gasp* actual 737s? No one tell the feds, or we'll be at war with all of europe looking for their Weapons of Aircraft Simulation.
No chance, even a once in a lifetime opportunity to fly the sim is not worth the possibility of having to deal with the IRS.
Never mind the Feds, now I'm just worried that someone will tell AA that I've been sneaking onto their real planes for the last 16 years.
AUCTION END TIME UPDATE-EXTENDED TO WEDNESDAY AT 5:00 PM EST We've got a little extra time to run the auction, so final bids will need to be in by 5:00 PM EST tomorrow. I'll essentially need your passports immediately after closing the auction. So, if you're bidding on a slot, my recommendation would be to send your passport ahead of time. If we don't get your passport Wednesday night, then you won't be able to fly.
