I have a reservation at the event hotel - Holiday Inn Elk Grove Village

I am thinking I'd like to get an SPG stay credit toward platinum, and am willing to commute.

I'm confused as to whether I can cancel it penalty-free -- but perhaps someone would like to grab my booking?

When I signed up, I thought that there was a penalty to cancel, but my confirmation doesn't show that, and when I went to the IHG website it appeared to be willing to cancel me without penalty. Does anyone know what is the real policy?

Alternatively, I could offer my reservation (which is for 2 DOUBLE BEDS EXECUTIVE NONSMOKING (c/i 10/28 c/o 10/30)
to someone who wants to stay at the event hotel. If it can be transferred, great, but I plan to arrive for the Friday evening session, so I can checkin and then give the room to someone also.

@Seacarl, I'd be happy to take your reservation, but we would have to find a way to transfer it to me as I need the points toward a Grand Slam transfer. :) I am currently at the over-flow location, but if being at the real location buys me even 10 more minutes of sleep, I'm in!

Is there any way to print an itinerary off the the eventbrite site. I am not able to print a complete list. Do they send out an itinerary before the event?

If anyone wants to rideshare with me on Monday morning Oct 31 at 4:15a from the Westin Chicago Northwest to make a 6a flight, let's do it!

No & no are the answers, from my experience with eventbrite. I can't remember for which workshops I registered so hopefully they'll have that list for me at registration. I assume I'm not in the timeshare one as I didn't get its pre-workshop survey.

I'm so excited for this event. It's going to be tons of fun.

Remember that registration closes tomorrow, Friday, at 5:00 pm Eastern. The hotel needs to know the final count so they can plan meals, order food (and booze for the bar!), finalize shuttle plans, secure appropriate staff levels. etc.

If we registered and don't have any special requests (in food or anything) do we need to do anything else?

I need to leave early on Sunday morning. Can I do the cancellations on Eventbrite or do I need to convo anyone?

I mistyped yesterday. Registration closes in just under 1 hour, at 5 pm CENTRAL.

We have 519 attendees at the moment.

For those wondering "what shall I do about a costume for the Sat night party"? Easy answer: EVERYBODY WEAR THEIR SEMINAR T-SHIRTS! Talk about your great photo ops!

Here's an update on the Seminar T-shirts (also posted over at FT thread):

We are going to award at least one door prize for the most unusual, lucrative, and/or crazy mileage run(s) of 2011.

Please post the details here, such as airline/alliance, routing, how you found it or figured it out, what if anything made the MR notable other than the cpm (cost per mile in cents; include that, too), how many MQM/RDM/EQPs/EQMs you got, any funny stories about it, etc.

Also please bring evidence that you flew the MR to the Seminars. Thanks.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend. ExpertFlyer will be donating a door prize of 1 free Year of Premium service. Good luck!

No! It's a costume party - you can do better than that. Come on people! ;) I do like the mass shirt idea though - maybe Sunday??

    SEA-SFO-LAX-IAD-GRU-ORD-EWR // EWR-HNL-IAH-SEA

Found about it on FT on a weekend. The routing rules on SEA-EWR were rather relaxed. Fare gone first thing Monday morning.

I was only able to get boarding passes through to GRU. It was rather difficult to get the onward boarding pass in GRU, and they wanted to know why I didn't have a departure tax stamp. Showers exist at both TAM lounge and UA RCC, but neither were operational and apparently never are. Luckily was able to use SWU for C-class on both IAD-GRU and GRU-ORD.

I'll have to do the calculations later, and can provide the FF statement.

Got a great one coming up over Thanksgiving, also *A.
SEA-IAD-FRA-OSL-IST-BKK // BKK-IST-OSL-FRA-DEN-SEA. All booked into A/Z/J, excellent fares 150% EQM credit. 20 hours stop in FRA each way, 3 days in BKK, 2 days in IST.

My first preference would be Marriott and can also manage to stay at Hyatt, SPG, or Hilton since I have status with all of them. Do you have any recommendations on which property is within walking distance.of the Holiday Inn Elk Grove the event site or if there is free shuttle service from the property to the event site.

No hotels particularly close to the host hotel as far as I know. There will be a shuttle to/from ORD and to/from the Holiday Inn Rosemont. Also carpooling.

Go to www.eventbrite.com. Logon. Immediately under the information block for the event are three options in a light gray color: Private event - Manage Order - Event Details. Click on Manage Order. You will see all the details about your registration including the sessions you selected. Print page. Bring to seminar. :)

Are they giving prizes for most convoluted flights to ORD? If yes, you are definitely a contender!
