Looks like the Q and A Mileage Runs and Award Booking with Ben Schalippig and Brian Kelly session is full.

Just signed up. Hopefully I can get into the Q&A Mileage Runs and Award Booking session though. Really wanted to get in on that.

I also wonder how close SMD4 will be to this weekend... could be a busy month!

    Greetings!!!!
I am registered for ord FTU
But am holding off on flt
    I found a dl
    Rt 12-14 oct for
    $278.60
Think I should hold out for a better fare?
Also I have a res@ spill over but i have read disheartening comments re shuttle :(
Plllllease if anyone has a room in the main hotel they wish to "sell" you can have the points
For both fri and sat nights
Otherwise I am quite unsure re attending -----
    Also
I was wondering if might apply my paid entry tkt toward
Calif FTU. Since fares and cost per mile are good now from JFK and I'd have a chance to get into main hotel PLEASE keep me notified to book main location when it opens
    Namaste

    Hi Nina,

I'm not sure what the normal fares from NYC to ORD are so can't comment on that.

Chicago Seminars and FTU are run by different people so you probably can't apply the fees from one to the other.

Don't let the spillover hotel influence your decision. You're only going to be there for a few hours each night anyway. :)

I don't know who runs what seminar, but I went to the NYC (Okay, New Jersey) seminars and had a great time.

It's all the wonderful fellow travelers that make it what it is, and I am sure that's who will be in Chicago. You might even learn some exciting points/miles information as well.

Looking forward to seeing old folks and meeting new ones! Staying at the Westin Chicago Northwest/Sheraton ORD again this year to get my starwood stays in. Anyone else staying at these hotels?

Very interested in this. I just reserved a night @ the Sheraton Suites & one night at Westin. Might as well get 2 SPG Stays...

Will need to figure out schedule w/work first before i actually book airfare/registration. Airfare right now is ~$400 RT. Should I wait or do people think prices will go up.

    ...
Edit: Should've mentioned I'm from LAX

Due to a family event this weekend, I'm dropping out of this one in favor of the FTU in LAX later in the year.

Anyone know if I can transfer a membership? I hope so.

ETA: I didn't mean between events, I meant if someone bought the Chicago Seminars membership from me.

There's an FTU at LAX??? Tempting for this LAX-based miles junkie.

    Yep. Thread here.

The unwritten rules of FTU state that you must fly to your FTU ;). Living nearby is cheating, you can't get as many miles for driving! :D

    I once flew BUR-LGB-BUR and LAX-SLC-BUR, so don't count me out ;)

I've seen numerous reports that the cheapest airfare is able to be booked 6 weeks out from the departure. Obviously during heavy times (common vacation dates, Monday mornings, etc) this prob won't work.

While the seminar is very close to ORD, don't forget the other Chicago airport MDW (then rent a car or take other transportation).

You can even fly in to MKE, then take $18 Amtrak ride to downtown Chicago as Amtrak stops right at MKE.

Frontier now flys into RFD but this is very limited service.

Thanks! I do have some SW points so i can fly to MDW. But I might be going to LGA ... so if i can goto LGA for work i might just do a connector in MDW/ORD and stay for the wknd.

I was able to utilize my Priority Club Platinum status to get them to open up a room for me. Rates are a bit higher, but I got a room. If you have platinum status, or know someone who does, that is an option.

So I not connected.... How much higher is the rate

    Hi Milepointers,

I have a vague recollection of signing up for specific sessions at the seminar, but I don't recall what I signed up for. Do any of you know if I can check on this in some was, or if an e-mail would have been sent relating to my choices.

    Thanks

VX has $290 RT from LAX to ORD on a 2day sale that ends tomorrow. I might just have to jump on this; screw my work schedule i think $290 is a pretty darn good price
  19. wrxmom Gold Member

That is cheap, too bad they don't offer the same rate from SAN.

Advanced: Q and A Mileage Runs and Award Booking with Ben Schalippig and Brian Kelly

    Is full :(

I really wanted this one over all the others.

Maybe we should look into expanding this one somehow??
