I'll have to check out the Amazon payments - thanks for sharing! I called Citi today about my AA Visa and the customer service rep said my card has no annual fee - I did sign up for first year fee free, but was curious if anyone else have this happen to them.
My first post here I applied yesterday to the A^A citi card hope to be approved, Thank you all for the amazon payments tip. I just have 1 question when I click "Send Money" I have to choose a bank account the fund my amazon account or there's an option "because your account balance is 0 you can use a cresit card" is that the one I need to choose? Also they ask me to select goods/services or cash advance.
Flyer99... there is an option to use credit card rather than a bank account... then select goods/services. I suggest you go ahead and register a bank account (you don't have to use it to transfer OUT) so your monthly limits increase.
Tried making a amazon transfer from my credit card this is what happened: ------------------ Pending We are unable to complete your transaction until further review. It can take up to 24 hours to complete this transaction. We apologize for any inconvenience this delay may cause.
Ouch! Tried using amazon payments with my chase/continental debit. They charge it as a debit so I don't earn miles..
Oh no! I was so happy that Amazon Payments had not yet been discussed en-mass at FT, and now I see this thread has effectively become a discussion focused on it. Considering that a bunch of the FT crowd is starting to come here as well, I guess it won't be long until Amazon Payments deal is featured in some WSJ article, and/or otherwise killed off. I can only hope that those starting to do this are keeping under the radar, this really is a great little service, and it would be crummy to lose it.
I know that the 75K AA Visa expired on 2/28. But, I've also heard that applications submitted and approved after the expiration date could still be eligible for the sign-on bonus. Can anyone confirm?
I can't speak to that particular offer, but I just applied using a different (older) expired link I found in a thread on flyertalk, and during approval the representative confirmed the terms, so it worked for me. This also seems to be the consensus experience of others, from what I've seen. If you can get the link to work, they'll honor it. The problem, of course, is that it's a bit riskier, in the sense that if they later decide not to do so, I really have no leg to stand on.
My application for the Biz card is still pending and Citi is asking for my address verification. I called in, they told me it was due to my recent change of address for the previous Citi CC. Now my situation is, I don't really have a business, how can I verify my business address? Any idea?
I provided a copy of my gas/electric bill and my Internet/cable bill along with a cover letter stating that I worked from my primary residence.
Has anyone gotten (or know how to get) the free companion certificate it offered when you purchase a roundtrip ticket for $299 or more with your AAdvantage card? I got approved for the AAdvantage Visa last month and have been using my card for about two weeks now but haven't gotten or heard anything from them.
To those who got in on the 75K - $1500 spend AA citi Business visa - how long after you reached your spend requirement did your miles post? I reached $1500 initial spend around February 20. My statement closed on the 24th and my new statement was posted on March 2nd. As of today, March 3rd, I still have not received the 75K.
Can anyone explain about the Charge Smart? I just searched it and it says you can use a credit card to pay a mortgage? Does this really work and earn miles, not treated like a cash advance? If I could pay my mortgage with my credit card every month and then just back back the credit card, that would be huge!
Did that work? I've been going around and around with Citi about a real home based business that I have, that they won't approve, since they can't verify my biz address. I even sent my bank account and a page from my schedule C taxes, but they still aren't approving it unless I send another bill and they don't have my biz name. Ugh.
I just faxed the bills and a cover letter. We'll see if they ask for more. When my girlfriend applied for this same business card, they asked for this information too. We never responded, yet the card just showed up in the mail a week later.
It worked for me - although I assume it might depend on who processes your application after receiving this information.
Lyssa... yes you pay your mortgage via Charge Smart, however they do add fees. A small fee of $14.50 is disclosed upfront... then a large payment fee (percentage) is added to the total towards the end. For my mtg payment total fees were about $80, ok for a one time thing to meet spending requirement, but in my case I wouldn't do it every month.
Flyer99... did it work after all? Seems like I remember seeing my transaction in pending for a day or so on my first transaction. I believe it went faster once I verified the bank account, even though I only used it to receive.
With the 1k limit I don’t think you have much to worry about. The big boys don’t even mess around for that amount.
I know of a couple instances in the not so distant past that had mere $1K limits that the 'big boys' did put a stop to: 1) AMEX Travelers Checks 2) AMEX Gift cards at the Mint
