I don't believe I ever received an email either in 2011. I did in 20010 though.

I had over 50 stays and I did not receive any email or gift

Edit: Searched my email and I did receive the magazine or 25 dollar options -- in May last year.

I never got an email either in fall 2011 when I requalified for Plat, unfortunately now PlatMinus.

It's almost March 1 and still no SPG card for me... Should I be worried?

Personally, I wouldn't spend five seconds worrying about it, but some folks' may be more sensitive to it than I am.

The cards are not going to be delivered by March 1st, but we will have your status as of then correct in the system and the hotels will know what it is as well.

Thanks for the reply. Honestly, I cannot remember the last time I needed a card anyways... Other than for a phone number or for getting credit for meals whilst not a guest.

P.S I always find it funny that people worry about their cards not being delivered by 1st March. I am lucky if I get mine by MAY each year! After all, it comes all the way from Belgium....go figure!

Of course, it is bad timing because I am spending about a month in SPG hotels in April....oh well, as long as the status is recorded correctly in my SPG profile, all is good.

I tried to use my $25 certificate at checkout, but the lady at the front desk said I couldn't because it was only for restaurant or a spa treatment. The T&C just say it may be used for any goods or services that are charged to your folio and the face value will be applied to your folio. I tried to tell her to read the back but she kept pointing to the front where it says "To: you From: Us Consider this an invitation to indulge: Luxuriate in a rejuvenating spa treatment. Savor an impeccably prepared meal...." I gave up, and just checked out. Does anyone know if you do in fact have to have additional charges on your room bill to be able to use this, and do they have to be at least $25 to get full value?

These are good for any charges that can be billed to the folio. If you use less than $25, you don't get a refund on the unused portion.

Is the charge for the room on the folio? Then, yes.

Thanks William, I thought that was the case. I wish I could have convinced her when trying to use the certificate on my last stay.

What should I do since my platinum concierge said he forwarded a request to CS many months ago about my never getting the "gift" for 2012, but I gave up after he said he never heard back. Is it worth pursuing somewhere else?
