About time Delta. Restricting it Platinums and Diamonds makes sense to me. Otherwise availability would be a crap shoot. Wonder how many people would pay extra for it. I would for the recline on an overnight flight. Not so sure about a day flight. By keeping it from being free to Golds and Silvers, those who have to buy up will have a better chance.

I was on two different 744s and one 763ER the last few days, and all of them have the YComfort section already. From what I could see the 744 (starting from row 22) bulkhead did not look as generous as the 763ER, but the subsequent rows looked quite spacious (with about two windows' length). The 763ER seats looked exactly like the pictures posted here earlier. Of course, I will still try to keep my decade-long streak of never riding in Y on transoceanic flights [IMG] even though these seats do look quite ok...

I'm flying JFK-TXL in April, and I noticed this week that my seat assignment had moved back from row 17 to row 23. I wondered if this meant Y Comfort seats were being installed, but I was able to switch back without problem or, evidently, fee.

Well it seems you've lucked out. That was the one of the only 763 which had been refitted (iirc it's the only one). I've been told all 747s have been refitted.

763 doing EZE-ATL on 27March is showing E+ as coach starts at row 16 now. No seats appear on the seat map for row 15 anymore. I was able to snag a bulkhead :)

I wonder if that's the "only one" (763) doing the route that day or there will be more 763's with E+ in service by then. Probably the latter.

Is there any further update on availability of EC seats on coach award tickets? I'm booked BOS-LHR in mid-June and am wondering if coach award ticket seat holders will be offered the seats, and, if so, when and at what price for GM? Or will DL say that availability is for "purchased" tickets, as stated in the EC announcement?

I asked Delta reps about that this week and they were going to look into it, but I think its a technical issue right now. I'll ask Jeff Robertson tonight at the FT awards and let you know what he says.

Just got my answer, The Points Guy. EC was avaialable on my BOS-LHR coach award flight in June, for $40 for GM. Change was accomplished through the "Interaries" tab, just like any other seating assignment change. You get prompted for a credit card after you've selected the seats.
