So I have a quick question? Is there a specific threshold that you cross and you become a silver member or gold member?. Or does it vary and not a set factor? This Is just a question I had on my mind. Thanks In advance
Its a combination of time served as a member and participation in forums. Initially it was 6 months as a member and some minimum like # I believe. you can see in you profile where you stand in terms of likes. your status will be reflected there too.
It appears that right now silver is a combination of 100 points and three months, gold a combination of 1000 points and six months, but YMMV.
Looks like you will be Silver some time around March 7 (3 months after you joined) and Gold June 7th (6 months after you joined as Gargoyle mentioned. You have already qualified based on your Status points which is a reflection of the number of posts made and you being well-liked!
Seems so far the best benefit of Gold/PL was the ability to book the OWMegaDO prior to the general public.
nope. Since time is a significant factor in Silver & Gold, my guess is that Platunimium comes at one year. Also, since Silver is 100 points, Gold is 1000, I'm guessing Platypus will require 10000. If I'm right, we'll see them start appearing somewhere around Feb. 4th.
10,000 points or you is no more unobtainable than $1M in loans was or the Kiva team. And the criteria for Unobtainium Status are contained in secret formula that even Al Gore doesn't have access to.
Except the points are awarded in larger amounts (albeit with more difficult criteria) as you advance. For example, most of my more recent awards were between 75 and 150 status points.
You're almost to 5k likes, which is probably 1500 points. You're also closing in on 2000 posts, another 100 points. You're moving right along there... you'll probably hit 10k when the weather warms up in CanuckLand.
On another note, I believe 19,925 is currently the highest status points a member can achieve. Well at least, I've never seen anyone else attain anything higher than 19,925.
