Do these double EQM with US Mastercard count towards the number of EQM required for a US status challenge amount? Flying 15K real miles to meet the 30k required to challenge to chairmans would be awesome!
Does anyone see anything that says the Dividend Miles Mastercard has to be tied to the account of the traveler? If I use my Dividend Miles Mastercard (ties to my own account) to buy my girlfriend's ticket, will she still get the double PQM?
The T&C at http://shopping.usairways.com/promotion/dividendmiles/registration.aspx?PromoCode=MCDM say "use a valid US Airways Dividend Miles MasterCard": Terms & conditions: Registration is required. US Airways will award miles 6 – 8 weeks after travel has been completed. All Dividend Miles terms and conditions apply. MasterCard and the MasterCard Brand Mark are registered trademarks of MasterCard International Incorporated. But it's probably worth contacting US and get that clarified... in writing.
I emailed them this morning, no reply yet. But there's a post tonight in the FT thread from someone who got that question answered in the affirmative, double PQMs will be awarded.
The reply I just got is the opposite of what the other guy was told. Why can't they get their crap together on this? Dear Swag, Thank you for contacting US Airways. The double miles will only apply to the primary cardholder on the account. Since you are the primary cardholder, it is only available to you when you book your flights. Please accept our sincere apology for any misunderstanding. Sincerely, Brian Brady US Airways Dividend Miles Original Message Follows: ------------------------ Message Hello, I'm looking for a clarification on the double miles promo (PromoCode=MCDM). To earn the double Preferred-qualifying miles, does the Dividend Miles Mastercard has to be tied to the account of the traveler? If I use my Dividend Miles Mastercard (tied to my own account) to buy my girlfriend's ticket, will she still get the double Preferred-qualifying miles? Thanks!
Speaking of not having your crap together, 30 minutes after that last email, I get another one, with another reversal: Dear Swag, Thank you for your email. Of your previous question, I have been updated that the person traveling would receive double Preferred Miles. If a person purchases a US Airways ticket for someone else using his/her US Airways MasterCard and that person meets all the promotion details including registration, booking and travel dates, then the companion will receive double PQM?s. Please accept our sincere apology for the misadvisement. Sincerely, Brian Brady US Airways Dividend Miles
