http://www.theglobeandmail.com/glob...ge-air-canada-ceo-tells-staff/article2260933/ Does this also apply to FF programs?
Hopefully not but I think that Mr. Rovinescu is going to push hard for a no/low-frills or low cost carrier with a modified (if any) pension plan. If AC is like any other airline, it needs its frequent flyers which provide proportionally larger revenue than their non-elites.
I agree. It does indicate however the possibiity that clawbacks or increased restrictions will continue to the FF program.
The FF program will be as competitive as it needs to be. The nashing of teeth every year by the disgruntled masses has no effect on their membership numbers nor the numbers of SE's etc. so far.
Quite right. As long as other airlines continue to devalue their programs, AC will do so as well. The program only needs to be competitive -- and competitive enough when combined with AC's hard and soft product to keep those FFs flying on AC.
