I don't let it get down to $0. I leave at least $5 in available cash. I usually have more in the account since I do 2 cycles, but I pull it out to re-cycle as soon as it's available.

Has anyone tried to sign up for the American Express promo recently? I had a friend try and the link is now dead. I know AA was supposed to end 9/30, but I thought Amex was through 12/31. Anyone know anything about that?

You sign up through the links posted by BostonGator and then open a Fido account and cycle in $100,000 worth of deposits. You should not have to ever call Fidelity or Amex.

Does anyone know when United miles typically post? My wife completed her $25K deposit on October 18th, and she's not yet received any miles.

I came here with the same concerns. My girlfriend deposited 50k end of September and received the first 25k United miles on October 7th. She proceeded to withdraw/redeposit by October 14th but she has not received any additional miles. It's now been three Fridays. Hopefully deal is not dead.

There has been some talk on FT in which people are questioning if cycling is still working. Meanwhile, I deposited 100K a month ago and am still waiting for the AA miles to arrive after getting an exemption. Keep hearing 2-3 weeks . . . keeps getting closer to 12/1.

The talk on Flyertalk in the Fidelity thread was posted by me, and I've received no confirmation from anyone else. Citifool is the only other person who's mentioned this potential problem. Anyone else?

I recently cycled in $50k in $15k increments a few weeks ago, and received 10k AA for passing the threshold on 10/14. It'll be a couple more weeks before reaching 100k.

    this crap is dead
they realized whats happening and dont want anyone to get more than one promo
i know the rule not to call
but i called initially because I was trying to get the AA deal and its wasnt working, called and they claimed i was an old member with some old acct with zero balance and would only give me the DL deal.
    completed that no issues.
but the MR deal is a no go if you have any miles from any other promo
plus they are trying to claim that acct is supposed to stay funded for 180days. caveat emptor

You're referring to a separate issue.

First of all, the MR bonus has been dead for a month.

Second, it might be true that it's no longer possible to receive two bonuses (although I haven't heard anyone explicitly report this yet).

The recent posts are discussing whether it's still possible to cycle funds into an account and receive a bonus based on the gross (not net) deposit. Based on the Flyertalk thread, it seems that NOBODY has received ANY bonus miles since October 15th, so it may well be possible that this loophole has been closed.

My impression was that it was very difficult to get the MR points if you had gotten any other points. The most successes were for those who did MR and then DL. Only a handful of people managed AA/UA and then MR.

I got the same pitch on the DL miles but insisted I wanted the AA miles and eventually got an exemption. As noted in this thread and the FT thread, if you get DL first, you can't get any other miles after them. Nothing has changed about that.

Okay, here's my deal. I signed up with AA link and got my miles after churning 100,000 k. Signed up for Amex points next but got the rejection letter. Signed up for delta next and got no reply. 50,000 sky pesos posted this week. Approx 2 weeks after signing up for delta promo. I am pretty happy even though I missed out on the Amex MR's.

Looks like points are flowing again. Finally scored my 50K AA points overnight.

Called five weeks ago to get an exemption as an existing Fidelity customer who never received Miles/Points, AA number unhelpful, Investment Group said "OK." Signed up and funded with 100K. Called back the following Tuesday to inform Investment Services that I had deposited the money. They verified that I was signed up and that I had deposited the money.

Three weeks later, still no miles, I called and was told that I need to get the exemption entered after the money had been deposited (I thought I did that), but that everything was all set now. Should post in 2-3 weeks (which is what they told me the first time).

No points this past weekend. Getting antsy, as time is starting to get short and if I wait the three weeks and was then told, "Ooops, we forgot something, it will be another 2-3 weeks" I would not make the 12/1 deadline. Fortunately, everything posted and all is well.

Dont be misled by this. Generally the whole "exemption" game or getting an agent to let you into a promo seems to be only effective if you fund directly with $100k. So cycling money in wont work. The investment DBs want to see all of the money in the acct before they release any miles. if they dont see you fully funded the account, you will most likely get denied.

Recently saw another promo for existing and new customers for an Apple gift card (note: not iTunes, but Apple, for Apple store products, which is better than an iTunes gift card), but with steeper tiers:
    www.fidelity.com/apple

    In 30 days
deposit $75,000+, $100 Apple Gift Card
deposit $150,000+, $300 Apple Gift Card
deposit $300,000+, $500 Apple Gift card

Interesting. Wonder how it stacks with the other offers? The T&C say they aggregate deposits made 30 days following registration. I just registered my wife, who deposited $100K for AA/DL a couple of weeks ago. We'll see if it catches that the way Delta does. I'm sure I could find some use for a $100 Apple GC right after Christmas. :)

    Interesting I
Will give this a try --- I just cycled through Fidelity and will sign up my wife next.

Is it possible to do this with minors? My twins have ~50k in an account at TD in my name, which I'd be happy to xfer and split between the two accounts (with some cycling along the way, of course.) I don't see any exclusions in the terms of the points offers (AA and Delta). I do have a 401k with Fidelity, and I assume I'd have to open custodial accounts. The question with be which SSID is used (mine or theirs), I think...
  8. mikesteg Silver Member

No joy. I was able to sign up for the promotion, but when following the sign up link it kicks it back due to "under 18". There is no hint of a custodial account available, so I can't even try that to see what happens. Odd...

Well, my wife signed up for this on November 17 after getting the AA and Delta miles. She just got an email stating that her gift card was in the mail. Her initial $100K deposit was within 30 days of signing up for this promo but she did not deposit any additional money. So it looks like you can get the Apple Gift Card in addition to the miles. As with all things, YMMV, but you better hurry as the promo closes in another week and change.

Right now you can still sign up for these promotions. I have read through Flyertalk regarding this promo and have taken advantage of it for myself. Now I am doing this for my husband. You can read my post about how to do this with step by step instructions here.

I signed up for UA and wanted to deposit 50K but would not take more than 25K. Received 15 K miles. No email regarding mile deposits or any offer available. Now how do I put more money in my account and get more UA miles. I understand I can get upto 50K miles. After I figure this out I may open DL account.

The initial deposit is limited when done via EFT for some reason. After that one clears you should be able to drop whatever amount you want to in via transfer. This is what they told me back when I did this deal (I had to call but I would limit any and all conversations with Fid reps so you don't screw up your chances).

I was hoping somebody could offer some advice.

I opened my account with United on 3/16 and funded it with $20,000. Added $5000 on 3/18. I haven't seen any miles post yet. I was cleared to begin cycling the $25000 yesterday. Should I start or wait until the first points post? Is it strange that they haven't posted yet?
