I received an e-mail from Fodor's announcing that their mobile apps for the iPhone and iPad would now be free. When planning a trip and traveling, 95% of the time I go with a Lonely Planet guide but for free I figured these apps might be worth a look (or a download). The apps are only available for six cities so far.Find out more HERE
Available for iOS and Nokia. Available apps: Barcelona London New York City Paris Prague Rome San Francisco
I d/l them a few weeks ago when the NY Times reported they were free. Took only a quick look at the SF app. Doesn't seem to have a ton of content, but free is free, I suppose. I have a ton of the Lonely Planet apps, too, as they were given away a few years ago.
I also had the free LP apps. They were given out after the volcanic ash/smoke in Iceland stranded many.
Right, that was one event where they offered free ones. There was another event that I don't recall, but I have about 25 of them. Even bought one (Tokyo).
Very nice! I had around 15 but for some reason they did not save to my iTunes & I lost them. I can't say that I really used them much.
I think if you attempt to buy them again, the iPhone will tell you that you already own it and allow you to download it again. If you don't know which ones you had, you can look them up in iTunes: Store > View My Account > Sign in > Purchase History button
