VFT made the same like MP. VFT seperated from the big VFF. So same situation like here with FT. VFT is a project of rcs (Moderator in FT) and flysurfer. Hope you got some light in the dark.
You know there is a button called "Like"? I guess this button is supposed to be used instead of posting a simple "thank you"
I disagree with this sentiment fwiw - I'd hate to see the site lose basic civility when someone requests something and it's provided, a thank you is more than called for. If someone posts something that you find useful (but didn't necessarily request), the like button is great.
Yes, I could've answered with 'like', but I felt ... a thank you was better. By the way... I 'like' your avatar picture.
Well, not really. But f.e. rolleyes is a nice way to just chat. It looks like the rolleyes here is more a counting down but thats not what rolleyes is about. People started dating after posting in rolleyes for a while. You just chat and get to know other user.
No, not really. That's why I said that there are really two kinds of chat threads, backwards counting and rolleyes being in the second category.
So what is this place about? Is it just a forum to talk about miles and points? Or is it a place where frequent flyers meet? Both options are part of the forum title. If it's the former (how utterly boring!), I'm not really interested. If it's the latter, I'm game, but then there is no question about which posts count and which do not. Everything counts of course, meaning everything that isn't considered "post padding". Of course, mere counting games are post padding.
Possibly a few posts in quite a lot of threads could be deemed to be "post padding" especially ones with one and two word posts. But I feel that it this which brings us together as a community. Every day when I log on I always look for familiar avatars (which is another good idea), a lot of which I have come across in these "post padding forums". I don't want to be accused of flaming, I am an offender myself. I mainly frequent these pages for something to do while I am waiting for someone to post in a thread I am interested in, or a new thread to start. If conversations showed up on the ipad I would probably do that instead. I am sorry if this has offended anyone or if they found it too long but I do like milepoint. and hope to be around for a while.
I think any thread which drives traffic and engagement with the site is good especially at this early stage Also helps new folk, who may find other areas intimidating, get posting Having said that happy to go with whatever Jeff
I would like to see status points reflect how much you are helping the community. Though threads with post-padding may help increase a community-feeling I still think helpful and community-related posts are the most important and thus off-topic posts should not be counted.
