Feb 29, 2012 expiring eVIP AVAILABLE NOW!

I have an eVIP that I can't use - it MUST be applied to a flight occuring sometime on or before Feb 29th! Start a conversation with me to use it (min flight time 3 hours or so...) - I'll edit this post when/if it's gone.

Thanks to benolaa for such a generous and kind offer!

Very kind offer! I'm sure the recipients will enjoy them!

If there were still $2k I fares for right now, I'd be happy to fly lax-lhr in F on an I ticket plus sweet, sweet VIP. 45k bonus would go to good use as well.

Yes, benolaa is very generous. I don't need any, because I have some of my own, but I'd like to thank him for the offer anyway.

Agreed, a great offer! I've decided to offer up any extra eVIPs I have in January. I had 2 extra this year that I gave away at work. Might have even more this year with the way international airfare on AA is looking!

Indeed. I understand AA's situation but mileage-run type TATL/TPAC fares seem to be in the past. At least I'm not seeing any...

I'm not even really looking for good CPM, but the price is higher than I've ever paid for trips back to Japan. Since all my travel is leisure, it might be more domestic than international for me, which is a big shift.

I'm basically the same, with the exception of a few business trips. For leisure, I'm not a "true" mileage runner as I always stay at least a night or two and look for decent fares as opposed to a low CPM threshold. Traditionally I've done the ORD-(DFW/LAX)-NRT runs to bulk up during the off season (which never materialized this year) and then throw in a few interesting TATL's to top me off. As far as qualifying I'm fine given the good EQM offers Jan-Mar this year, but given long haul fares I may confine my leisure travels to a much shorter distance.

I likewise loom for good fares, especially in I for international on a 777 if I have any VIPs left. By checking EF from time to time, searching for fares LAX to Europe/Asia that book into I and check "all dates" I can see when there are limited-validity fares, e.g., $2k to Europe during June. Last year there were great prices for a few days either side of Thanksgiving.

Also consider a RTW (e.g., Circle Pacific or xONEx) that starts outside North America. You can get great flights and have a fun couple of days at a better price.
