GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA announced that it will open sales points, named VOE GOL, in the subway stations Itaquera, Se and Luiz, in the city of Sao Paulo. The new sales points will enable customers to purchase tickets, alter or cancel reservations, and clarify doubts about the trips.

This was reported some time ago in local press and in Reuters on May 11 but not yet on Milepoint.

That is a great initiative on the part of GOL. Imagine.. an airline making it easier to purchase tickets :)

It should be entertaining to see. Travel agents have dominated in lower income categories especially. GOL ought to do well with the Metro.

I think it should be great- a number of people don't use credit cards, so as an alternative to the Internet this is a great solution.

A huge number of people in Brazil don't even have bank accounts. For them this also should be a boon.

The metro is a great idea for sales, however I have seen GOL airlines ticket agencies in shopping malls, they generally have a small kiosk located in some of the malls in SP

These are identical to the shopping center ones, as I understand it.

It's nice to see an airline that puts back the meaning of Customer Service. Perhaps US airlines should look up and redefine the meaning of Customer Service and then try it out again and see if they can get it right.

Sadly, no Brazilian airline, with the possible exception of Azul, is very good at customer service on the ground. They are quite good in the air. GOL is trying to be innovative in care of the lower middle class and below, who are now beginning to fly in large numbers and are making an increasing proportion of domestic passengers. We all hope they get it right. Their shopping center kiosks seem to be a great success.

I had a problem when I flew with GOL a few years ago and their customer service was excellent, way and above the call of duty.

I am happy about this. The complaints levels for Brazilian airlines during the last year or so have risen because of serious overcrowding and undercapacity in airports and ATC. I hope there are more experiences such as yours. BTW, mine are also positive, but I go out of my way to travel within Brazil on off-times. We desperately need more airport and ATC capacity because the traffic is booming.

Also- avoiding GRU and flying instead from CGH helps a lot- not to mention seriously less transfer time (to the airport that is) if you are coming from Morumbi area for example.

Very true. Avoiding Sampa entirely is another good move. I do that as much as I can.:p
