My favorite sandwiches are: The Monte Cristo with Maple Syrup, The Club Sandwich and The Ham and Cheese Sandwich toasted.
I'd like to try that as well, thank GOD they used provolone instead of Cheez Whiz, I made a special trip to Philadephia with the sole purpose was to try the famed Philadelphia Cheesesteak sandwich, and they put friggin cheez whiz on the sandwich, the same yellow cheap fake cheese crap that gets put on nachos. NO sandwich can be good with that junk on it and sure enough the three different Cheesesteak places I tried were one of the biggest food letdowns of my life. The Philadelphia sandwich that was very good was the roast pork w/sharp provolone & broccoli rabe. From the article, the combined Italian Meatball & Vietnamese Banh Mi sounds disgusting, even though I adore both those sandwiches on their own.
it is, I can't tell you the shock when I went up to the first cheesesteak place and asked about what exactly was cheez whiz and is this the same thing as cheez whiz on nachos, yes was the reply. I thought for sure this Philadelphia cheez whiz was some special recipe cheese with some sharpness to it (like the very good Merkts product http://www.merkts.com/html/ProductsProductsMain.html ) but no, it is yellow shxt, such a bummer.
