Any advice for those flying on that day? My parents are departing LHR on Thursday. Sounds like last time it wasn't an issue. They're planning to get there early and hope for the best, which is about the only thing I would know to do as well. Though if they get through quickly, they'll be stuck at the airport for hours with no lounge access!
If the airlines cancel a lot of flights (many were canx last time) to avoid any issues, it could affect their outbound flight. They just need to be sure to check flights and give things time. If flights are cancelled, then they could face queues for rearranging flights, etc.
