I noticed a link in my UsingMiles eStatement email for Hilton HHonors Instant Gold Status The link leads to http://www.hiltonhhonors.com/AirlineAcquisition2012/usairways and an offer for instant HHonors Gold status through March 2014 when you enter your USAirways Dividend Miles account number.
Didn't work for me. Fine print says: Offer is valid for the recipient of this email only and is non-transferable.

If you are interested in offers like this, it might be worthwhile to sign up for UsingMiles; the basic account is free. I just recently signed up because it was part of the MP Premium membership benefits. I'm not using it to track my miles (because I use TripIt for that) but I will keep reading their eStatements for deals!
There is an easy workaround to facilitate Gold HH, and its my guess that this is how the HH gold offer service on ebay works.
