Not that I care, but how did some end up with Original Member while I got stuck with Member?

    I want my money back!

Had the same issue. I complained and threatened to return to the other frequent traveler site. Boy did they jump to correct the issue! Seriously I think as you progress with posting and contributions your status will change as mine did.

Once you get another 5 points, wait an hour and you'll become an Original Member.
In the meantime, we will send your money back. It should arrive in 6 to 8 weeks, but we will have to deduct for shipping and handling.

I'm still a new member, but I want to be an orignal too, I just hope to someday give myself the title of "Bhagwan"

Haha, I nearly did that too. :p

Earlier yesterday the threshold was 25 status points for Original Member. It was later raised to 35 points. During peak times it took longer than an hour for the status to update, but in any case updates only happen once an hour at 40 mins past the hour. ;)

p.s. Thanks Art234 for pointing out it's status points rather than posts that makes you an Original Member. I have edited this post.

It's based on the algorithm laid out in the novel Catch 22- whenever a pilot got close to enough missions to rotate home, the required number was increased. It's a proven and time-honored methodology.

NR, I do not think it is posts but status points which makes you an original member.
I was not aware that they raised the points requirement, but again this is a work in progress.

While that may mean "lord"/"god" in one language, in another it means "gardner". Planting divine seeds to reap in more miles/points?

But like we saw in the Platinum Status next Level thread it is easy to get the status.

Absolutely, anything to "grow" more miles/points. My friends used to call me the "Bhagwan" way back when the Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh took over Antelope, Oregon, since I'm half East Indian and seem to enjoy lording over them......lol

Yes, I meant status points and not posts, though number of posts appear to be related to status points as well.

The points requirements are fluid -- they will go up as MiPo grows. Similarly the points you get for X posts or Y likes may well be different. It's a top-secret algorithm :) and it's bound to change frequently, to ensure the status thresholds stay at the "right" level.

Posts are just how many times you post here. Status points are awarded for various things- how many times people like your posts, how useful your posts are... there is a Top Secret and ever morphing algorithm running behind the scenes, and that determines your status points. [IMG]

I don't care either but I need the upgrade. I have just learned about Y-UP fares. Can I buy one of these to go to Original member?

I hate those people who change usernames; it took me long enough to work out what your handle was now you go and change it on me.

    And I think 0 = 0.

Please allow me to share my strong dislike for the nickname "MiPo." MP works just fine.

We just have a small delay as we are waiting UA to change their FF program name so that it doesn't conflict with our acronym!
