We all know that there is another delay in inflight connectivity, i.e till year 2012.

How much do you think will the charge be? ;) $30? $25? $20?
Will it depend on the length of the flight?
Lufthansa charges 19.95 euros for 24 ours usage if FlyNet. Do you think SQ will charge around the same price range?

My guess is that SQ will charge similar rates to Lufthansa.
It would be very nice if the service was offerred free in at least F- however I really doubt that will happen.

I hope they offer a standardized 24h rate eg. at 22.95$ plus my wish is as the technology progresses and is offered universal on nearly every airline that this will lead it to being free eventually in all classes while flying in the very long-term......we can dream, can we?

Yes, I agree. For F pax, perhaps a free wifi is a surprise delight! :D

I do hope they offer 24 hours rate since SQ 1 or SQ 11 takes about 24 hours to bring us to Singapore. $22.95? Hmm what's OnAirs usually charge? Higher than those numbers I think. ;)

Naturally it will be higher, but thinking in the longer term the price will hopefully come down as this will encourage usage to go up incl. in all classes and purposes eg. business and leisure too. I hope it will be a staggered come down trickle of the cost from lets say 49.95 to 34.95 and in the long term as the service gets competitive and one of the advantages to fly with a certain airline instead of differentiation it be 22.95 and in the ultra long term, let's dream it will be free for all.

Don't forget the QPPs, TPPs, and LPPs too. I think it would be a great benefit if free wifi is offered to them :)

    How about $29.95? Sounds fair? ;) :)

I would say no, they won't get free wi-fi! :p

Hmm you haven't been on SQ much this year. No wi fi for you in J. :D

My apology. Is 26MB a lot? How much MilePoint browsing I could do? ;) :) Sounds so little ...

26MB is not a lot. Email should be OK. Some images could consume 26 MB in a few minutes.

Yikes! No live trip report onboard SQ then.

Well twitter will be OK, as will milepoint. I wouldn't spend a lot of time on the "guess the airport" photopages however as you could eat up a few MB quite easily. A large file in PPT is ~10 MB. A large worbook in XLS can be 5 MB quite easily. Don't be refreshing to your cloud too often and 26 MB will be fine for working with email and a few files. Web-browser will eat it up quite quickly.

    - 26 megabytes for US$29.95
    - 10 megabytes for US$11.95
    - US$0.15 for every 100kb over plan limit.

Some a/c have already been installed with OnAir

    Happy Surfing!! :)

If I could afford FIRST class on the A380, I would want all the bells and whistles, surely they will incorporate this into the fare, not exactly a large amount, or give you the option, "Would you like caviar today or the 26 megabites?"

They don't exactly serve caviar on all routes nowadays. Only select and night routes I believe..

Which can mean that the first batch of 388s are getting the wifi already! So 26MB is good for emails, website viewing, and similar items correct?
