Being an infrequent flyer with no status, I am thinking about applying for the PenFedCU Amex card that will give me a free Priority Pass after $15,000 spent. Traveling ABQ-IAD-MUV-VCE rt FCO-IAD-ABQ in Sept/Oct and have several hours layover in MUC. Can't tell which lounge I might have access to in MUC. Info?

Be careful to read the fine print regarding which version of Priority Pass is included. Some give unlimited lounge access with guests, while others give you the privilege of paying about 25 Euros/$35 per admission. Some plans give a fixed number of visits, after which the fee must be paid.

Found out on FT that there are no PP lounges in UA/LH terminal in MUC but got a great suggestion about walking over to the Kempinski Hotel between terminals where they have a day spa you can get entry into for 18 Euros/2 hrs which includes a towel and bathrobe. Massages can also be scheduled. No worries about PP since there is such a pleasant alternative for our 3+ hour layover.:D

Got to LHR early on Sunday and lounge hopped with Mrs. Microwave to all three oneworld F lounges. We were both very impressed with CX F, and would say that it is now our favourite lounge... The one thing BA Galleries First has on CX F is booze--BA have self serve Johnnie Walker Blue and marginally better champers (I happen to like Veuve Clicquot and have been underwhelmed at times by BA's champagne bar selections), but we both perceived the CX lounge to be brighter, quieter and more peaceful, and when we asked about the noodle bar at reception the very kind and gracious hostess offered to show us over to the J side where we could order the noodles ourselves and take them on to the F lounge--and the noodles themselves were really very good! Overall, the both of us prefer the lounges in the following order: CX F > BA Galleries First > AA Flagship Lounge. But don't let word get out too much, because the CX F lounge is much smaller than BA Galleries First, and we don't want it to get crowded. ;)

Loved BA First in T3. Flagship at AC is just okay in comparison. Checked out SAS and CX in T3 and were not impressed.

You should compare BA at LHR to CX at HKG for fairness. Frequently the headquarters airports have the best lounges, for example SQ's TPR in T3 at SIN.

Except AA, who has quite a few ACs at DFW but no Flagship Lounge... hehe. :)

A few of those ACs are pretty nice, nothing on the level of what you'd find with BA/LHR, CX/HKG, IB/MAD, or JL/NRT though sadly. I understand the rationale behind not having a showcase lounge at DFW, but it would still be nice to unique AA space.

Agreed-Not impressed at all with the FL or CX First but the BA Galleries First is worth a visit!
