iPhone 4S CPU Clocked At 800MHz Is 73% Faster Than iPhone 4, Twice As Fast As Galaxy S II, And All Other Android Phones

According to benchmark results posted earlier today, the iPhone 4S is the fastest smartphone – both in general and graphical performance – in the world, beating superphones like Samsung Galaxy S II and Motorola Droid Bionic.

Very nice... But I'll wait for a LTE compatible iPhone (or I guess if at some point my iPhone 4" regular" gets broken)

So, they are going to overheat and burn. And, you can't take the battery out when it happens.

Well as the article mentions, it's something that overclockers and hardcore PC enthusiasts have known for ages... efficiency is more important than raw cycles. Even at 200MHz (or more) slower than some of the other dual-core CPUs out there, the A5 is obviously more efficient.

But out-performing the current crop of phones is one thing... the real test will come when the new smartphones are released. The new Droid HD / RAZR / whatever it's called and the Nexus Prime will be announced this coming week and released in a couple of weeks, so that's the real watermark for the new iPhone.

I wonder what tests run by the manufacturers of the other phones would say.....

There are many features in a mobile device that are more important to me than raw processor speed.

In that department.... maybe it should be: Mine is bigger. Yours is faster.
