I love TripIt Pro -- it gave me info, on average, 15-20 minutes faster than United, which was great when my flight was pulled in. On a frankenflight commuter, though, it didn't have the right terminal (but neither did United's app, so it was at least no worse).
Just got an offer from TripIt. We hope you've enjoyed your complimentary TripIt Pro subscription provided by American Express (due to expire 3/31/2012). Act now to continue your TripIt Pro service without interruption. Simply add billing information to your TripIt account and we'll immediately renew your subscription at the preferred American Express rate of only $35 per year (that's 30% off the normal TripIt price). This offer expires 4/15/2012. Is it worth it for $35 for the person who flies less then 12 r/t per year?
TripIt has been bought by Concur - a provider of "white label" travel and expense management platform used by travel agencies and large corporation and (I assume) a competitor to American Express Travel Services. I wonder if this has anything to do with the loss of TripIt Pro benefit for Amex cardholders. Our company's travel agency (a Carlson Wagonlit affiliate) uses Concur platform. It is well integrated with TripIt now: reservations are added to my TripIt account and all changes are reflected automatically. No email forwarding necessary. Pretty neat.
Used pro before and probably won't be going back there. Itineraries from non-English emails are not all automatically added. Always came with errors so I had to manually add those. This problem is present especially when confirmation emails are not the ones from Amadeus. Plus there is no real added advantage of the pro vs. basic version. My phone is equipped with FlightTrack, Check my trip, FlightBoard & some other travel apps that makes traveling smooth. Plus I don't have to pay much for those other apps. Worldmate does a good job too for a fraction of what TripIt pro charges so my pro goes to Worldmate when I really do want to go PRO
TripIt becoming Spammy? I’m a TripIt Pro user and love the service, but hate the ads. Over the years I have seen more and more ads creeping into the Pro version. First it was car rental “recommendations” within the itinerary. Today after I submitted a trip I receive a TripIt email saying “We found a great hotel for your trip!” Is anyone else noticing the heavier advertising pushes?
