On it good sir. As Dreamworks has mentioned above, Kiva is interested in engaging Milepoint again. Feedback on both sides was very good for Kiva Do 2012.

The event opened up Kiva to considering the impact of local live events (which is why they asked if I could put together something for tonite as Premal is in town speaking with the Clinton Global Initiative).

Also, as DW mentioned they would like to open it up to more members. We did have some stellar folks who were not MPers join us, such as ravi G and Howard Z, and I think that's a winning formula going forward.

I just looked at the Qantas website. I need to fly 1 Feb or later otherwise the flight will cost alot more. About $2600 instead of $1600. Sales will happen but at the moment Feb 1 or later for me please.

Would say an early June date be significantly better? I don't know if we really need to have it in Jan./Feb...

How is June for EU fare's? (Do we have strong EU members?)

I will have accrued lots of annual leave in June and my online knitting group are meeting in the Ozarks in June. I think that's where they said.

Maybe someone who is touch with Kiva folks should ask their opinion on when is a good time, especially if this gathering is to attract other Kiva lenders who may not be Milepointers.

Personally I like the idea of visiting SF in Spring or Summer rather than Winter.

Being retired, the date is not that important !
It is however important to set the date so that flights can be booked early to benefit from cheaper flights.

SFO is always cold in June. Or so it seems to me. I have more tacky fishermans wharf fleece jackets that I've had to buy when I've gone in the summer :).
What about the same weekend we had it last year?

Is it okay if I read post #84 and just like it.

Yes, canucklehead will talk with Premal, but I still feel the need to emphasis that the date should set via a more collective discussion.

But we live in a republic not a collective.;)

Either way, voices like yours and mine get to blather on. ;)

Hmmm, maybe there's also an opportunity for a Curmudgeon Mini Do during a break in the Kiva activities the same weekend. Of course, anyone expressing interest would immediately be disqualified from attending. This could be trickier than I thought.

I'm in, most likely will have a wedding to go to or be in HKG (assuming UA is forced to honor the tickets) but if i'm available I'm in.

With this crew, wouldn't it be a Curmudgeon Maxi DO? :D

SF Winters can be warmer than summers!

Yes, but if I come to SF, I will also explore other areas of Cal (and I prefer to come in a less rainy time of the year.) I doubt that I would fly out just for a weekend. Anyway, it's more important that a date is found that appeals to Kiva folks.

jbc suggested time for more activities. I am certain a grouch session could be arranged each day.

Canucklehead: Any idea if Kiva is intererested in a DO? Timeframe?
  3. YULtide Gold Member

That's because you don't live in Edmonton (or Winnipeg).

    I'm in, subject to availability.

Premal said they wpuld be interested. Feedback on their side was very positive.

Timeframe was our decision last time, with Kiva filling in availability closer in. We were originally told that we may get Matt OR Premal, but eventually had a chance to get all our speakers.

Btw, one timeframe to avoid -Fellows training week.
