Please use this thread to post hotel room shares, before and after gatherings and individual arrival and departure info. We will be building a master map for A/D, so please bear with us, there's plenty of time before the actual OWMD.

For those few Euro-based attendees that may actually want to head over to NYC on Sunday to catch the Oneworld events (tbd/tba) at JFK, and the party flight "back" to London, I might be willing to help organize a meetup on Sunday. I'll likely book a flight over to JFK (or a more-miles one LHR-ORD-LGA!) on AA. We'd simply meet at BA's F lounge at T-£ (personally prefer it to AA's A/C--F/L there).

Skye1, I can join you from London. Keep me posted on your plans.

Edit: Just had to cancel my place on the charter, as a work event has been scheduled right in the middle of it :( Will still try to see if there's any possibility of participating in the JFK or LHR events. Whoever gets 27E on the charter, you're welcome!

I'd like to join the MegaDo from Europe.

My doubt is about which is the best option: to meet at JFK and join the party there (and don't come back to Europe for the LHR part) or join directly at LHR and then follow you at DFW but with a ticket originating from London.

    Any suggestion will be welcome.

I'm hoping to join from Tuesday night onward at LHR, although may have to take a slightly later flight to DFW on Wednesday with a work commitment that am.

Just be careful since that would give you very little margin for delays (and then of course the worries of any freak ice storm in the area)

1/25 Arrive DFW AA1397 from DCA at 2:05pm (a Plat's upgrade has to clear at 11:30am on Wednesday, right??)

1/29 Depart LAX UA653 to IAD at 12:52pm (couldn't resist the confirmable upgrade space on the 777)

1/25 I'll arrive at DFW from LAX (probably with VX - still need to work on that)
1/28 I'll leave from LAX on 8:35PM BA flight to LHR then to MIL(I've to be back at work by Monday)

I'm still trying to figure out if I can fit in the JFK event ;)

Excellent. Any other European-based fliers thinking likewise? (heading over to NYC Sunday prior for the Optional Program)

Me and probably a friend we'll join from Europe.

As I wrote above we should choose between the JFK program and the LHR one. Doing both seems me unfeasible: would mean cross the Atlantic 4 times in a week.
I originally planned to join the MegaDo in London, but meeting at JFK would mean a couple of free days in the USA.
Once we'll have some more details on the events at JFK and LHR, we might make a choice.
Of course, there'll be also logistic aspects to consider for the planning.

    You already announced your presence.

It's all about time zones: even if in a roundtrip the sum is zero, the legacy that leaves is not ...

I would like not to spend the time during charters and events taking naps :D

I probably won't do the TATL leg (due to both cost and missed work/family time). So I need positioning flights from NYC to DFW and then LAX back to NYC.

JFK-DFW in Y is <$200 so I was thinking of using my AMEX Platinum airline credit for this (getting 4x $50 e-cards and using them to pay for the flight). LAX-JFK - there are a bunch of MileSAAver awards for various flights on 28-Jan, I can fly first (Z) for 32500 miles or business (U) for 25000 miles.

Thoughts? I'm trying to minimize out of pocket costs.

I have a lot of BA miles as well (wife and I did 100K Chase) so I could also book with those, but for a 50K (J) or 75K (F) miles... seems very silly.

Tentatively booked on AA to arrive about 3 PM from BWI Jan. 25, and on the ns to IAD on Jan. 29 which leaves at 8:45 AM.

Actually, not sure what the timing of the LAX program on Sat is, so maybe it's better to depart on Sunday.

I see GLeff has posted his flights from DC - Who else is coming from DC? If you are coming from DC I'm sure either Gary or I would be happy to see some MegaDoers on the same flights. Drop me a PM if you are interested in coordinating our flights.

I'm undecided on which class I'll go for on the official MegaDo flights; budget concerns may dissuade me from going for First Class, and I don't know what will be available when I am able to sign up.

I'm thinking of doing the London portion and then organising flights LHR-DFW, LAX-LHR (or something like that). I'm based out of London, obviously.... and can't justify 4 TATL crossings in a week either!

Happy to guest someone into the AAdmiral's club at DCA before the outbound flight. For the return I'll be guesting in msgleff to the lounge...
