    When I've tried to remove then in the past, it removes the entire hotel entry.. Hmm

    Yup, same here. And it won't let you have hotel res without a departure date.

    I've "complained" to tripit about things like this in the past, but always get the party line about my comments being forwarded onto the respective department...

    Well I sent feedback, and asked that it be treated like an enhancement request if they don't already support it.

    I get hungry every time I see this picture! If we can't find a BBQ spot, there's a Whataburger less than a mile from the airport. :D

    If you can't find BBQ in that area, I guess you must be blind ;)

    I have never been to a Whataburger and it has been recommended to me many times. I may have to search it out before my flight back to Chile on Sunday after the Do.

    Still looking for a hotel share, JAbrams72? Can't tell if you have a room or need a room. :)

    I've got a room booked in DFW (2 queens) and SEA (2 doubles) and looking for a roommate. No reservation in LA yet but need room for Fri.

    Being newish here, I can't add myself to the room sharing wiki just yet, but anyone else who is interested please message me. Open for an DFW/SEA room(s) trade for LA -- or something like that.

    Thanks!

    Personally, I question who is recommending a Whataburger to you. I probably, no make that definitely, wouldn't eat a Whataburger before getting on an 8 to 10 hour flight to Chile. Plus, maybe the most expensive fast food chain burger. But the choice is yours.

    in Y, C, or F, I can sleep from before take-off to when the top of descent announcement is made :p

    ETA: and I think it's only a 42 hour Jan 22, what's wrong with that? :D

    I called the Hyatt Regency to provide me with some options for transportation to the stadium. Chris at the concierge desk recommended us taking a cab there and mentioned this was probably the most cost effective way to get there.
    • A 7-person cab --> $100 round trip = $14 per person
      • Presumably, we'll have to call the same cab to pick us up once we're done.
    • 360 Limo
      • Van for up to 14 people --> ($87.75 * 3 hr minimum + $4.50 fuel charge) = $267.75 ... roughly $22 per person

    Cool. I'll see if my company has any corp rates negotiated with any car services in DFW and report back.

    Except for MCI-DFW, I'm probably flying UA after the DO is over.. Have to stay loyal to my family at MCI :p

    You're copying me almost.

    VA11 MEL-LAX, DL2020 LAX-MEM, DL4047 MEM-DFW. Was cheapest option (seeing as I doubt i'll do the TATL at this stage). Will see you at the airport on the 29th. I'm on VA12 to MEL (AS Lounge in T3... ugh)

    AS is moving to a new terminal.... VA have moved arrivals in to T5, I wonder if their departures will follow suit?

    According to VA it's in to T5, out of T3. God knows T3 is around 20 years overdue for a renovation. It's a hole. Can only hope it moves soon (although not likely to be by JAN 2012).

    Perhaps they'll build their own lounge in T3. There seems to be some kind of renovations underway there at the moment (not lounge, just renovating the "shops" downstairs I think)

    How about a 15 passenger van? Maybe we can find a car rental place just outside the airport. This would enable us to do other activities too, if time allows.

    Mmmm, Whataburger... The thought makes me hungry and I just had some awesome BBQ for lunch. :D

    I consider Whataburger one of my favorite fast-food places.

    DFW's rental car center is at the south entrance to the airport and that would be my recommendation over cabs or limo services. Someone at the DO will likely have a good car rental deal. Since it is mid day on a Thursday that you need transportation, some of the tour companies might be able to help with a bus. Dan Dipert is a Arlington based tour company (where the stadium actually is) but I am not sure that would come out cheaper than passenger vans unless a busload went.

    Dallas is not Austin when it comes to BBQ. Finding BBQ is easy, finding good BBQ is not. I have not tried Hard Eight in Coppell that was recommended in another thread. The famous BBQ in Dallas is Sonny Bryan's, but Sonny died quite a while back and the name is owned by some conglomerate now. The original is worth a visit just to see the place, but the BBQ itself... meh.

    Sorry I won't be joining the pre-adventure, but I have to pay for my ticket :)
