I am originally from the DFW area and know of several great BBQ places, but none near DFW airport or the stadium. I can however recommend to NOT eat at a chain BBQ restaurant. Most great BBQ restaurants are the independently owned "hole in the wall" type of places. If needed, I can do some google map searches and research reviews for BBQ places. There must be some other folks from the DFW area that know of some really great places??

I can recommend Hard Eight as a decent BBQ place however it is North of the airport, far from the stadium.

I've not tried any BBQ between DFW airport and the stadium but a quick Yelp revealed a few ideas.

If you go with a chain Dicky's is decent.

You do not like anything in Grapevine?

The downtown Grapevine area is fun with quite a few restaurants however I don't know of any great BBQ places. It's also on the opposite (North) side of the airport even farther out of the way than Hard Eight. Hopefully someone else from the DFW area can provide better insight than I.

Which trip? The tour of the stadium and BBQ? Nothing's scheduled yet, but I would imagine that we should aim to leave at 2 so we can make it back to the hyatt around 5.

As i've now been convinced (drewbles goes to the opening of an envlope.... ) to go on the TATL I'll have to erase my penciled in dates for the DFW events. Sorry guys (although i'm sure it'll be me that's sorry with Jetlag upon arrival into DFW!).

Do we need to stay in the official Hyatt hotels for every night? I'm concerned about the cost, especially if I can't find a roommate. I see there's a Marriott courtyard within walking distance of the Hyatt Century City that I can get for much cheaper, for example.

I never been on a Mega Do before but from everything I been reading I think you are risking missing out on a lot by staying elsewhere. A lot will be going on and even a short distance away is probably too far to take part in all.

The DFW Regency is out of doubles, so we're considering the Grand Hyatt. The room is more, but its still cheaper than two King rooms at the Regency. Being on the other side of the airport, I'd hope we wouldn't miss anything.

It's not a requirement, but it's definitely advisable to stay at the Do hotels for the convenience even moreso than the experience. I would not walk from the Hyatt Century City to the Courtyard on Friday night after arrival -- especially with all of your stuff, in the dark, when you don't know where you're going. The route you would have to walk is not what I would characterize as "pedestrian friendly." If you're going to stay at the Courtyard, I would definitely recommend taking a short taxi ride to/from the Hyatt, and save yourself the trouble of having to navigate by yourself in the dark.

You should be OK walking it on Saturday morning, in the daylight, unencumbered from all of your newly-acquired swag items.

Unless we get a major discount off the $400+ rate at the Churchill I'll be hoping some doubles get added and I can find a roommate!

If there's no discount available for the group rate (I'm hoping the rate on the site is a non-discounted one) I'll be up for a share (I have my own room at the other places, but at £220 it's way out of my price range for a single night!) if it's on offer

I secured a twin room at the group price. Also trying to get a upgrade to a twin suite using one on my diamond upgrades. Let me know if you are in for the share. I definitely can't see spending that much $$ for one night by myself. Thanks!

Looks like I'll stay at the Hilton Hyde park on hhonors points. I can't justify that kind of money for one night in a London hotel.
