Wow this is a shock, unless someone is buying your tickets i never quite understand how anyone really uses their upgrade points anyway.

What i'm more impressed with is they decided to do something different to what ANA is doing which makes a big change especially when upgrade points are targeted at the business travellers whom i figure are the main people that use them.

I guess i'll have to push to use them all given it's a one off deal i can never get again.

what the hell u smoking? i m no business travelers!

And I blame AA and possibly BA JBA for this change in the program direction!

I don't smoke but I realise you're not the but surely their elite program is geared towards them more so than leisure travellers.

Let's see what they offer as compensation (if anything ) before jumping to any conclusions as to whether this is a good or bad change.

just because you are not willing to spend the extra amount to buy an upgradable ticket doesn't mean others won't

Sure I accept that, there are plenty of people out there that earn a good salary and could afford to do that quite easily.

Haven't seen anything good here, just bad (lose upgrade points and much harder to qualify). What's the upside, JALPak?

Less elites and harder for overseas people and those who don't fly JAL that much to get JGC is always a good thing.

Well, I guess for us JGC superstars it might be a good thing... :p

Perhaps its best to fold the program alltogether
If you fly less than 100k miles in jl f ure not worth their time

Don`t be silly. You need to fly at least 500k a year to be worth the time of day haha.
Now we have JGC, we should be fine forever. JALPak and the allike(those overseas) are the ones most at risk.

I got the credit card which is what this is all linked to. I have no idea why they decided to extend JGC internationally.

Your JGC means nothing. All they have to do is to downgrade you back to OW nobody or ruby

    Noooooooo!

Of course, everyone would then cancel their expensive credit cards ;)

I like their old system more. You need to fly 20K FOPs to become a Sapphire. They should bring that back and add the requirement which at least 10K of them are on JAL metals :D

    Correction...I would LOVE that

It means everything as even if they go back to Sapphire it's more than likely i'll still fly them getting lounge access anyway with JAL even if that's ruby status so not really all that phased by this. Sucks for people overseas that don't fly JAL and just got it for lounge access with their home or closer by OW partners.

IF you fly on them  Are you going to stick to just JAL if you fly on OW and pay the ridiculous fare? Those people who don't fly on JAL majority of the time shouldn't be JGC members anyway. It is meant for experienced JAL flyers.

I wouldn't rule that out as a possibility. I most certainly will chose between ANA and JAL domestically.

Yea that's the same as saying me picking AA on US domestic
