Congratulations to jrp2, PLUS_1, MrAOK, cwpfly and yunicorner! w00t!
Congrats to the winners. Kiva seems like a great cause and I'm looking forward to learning more about it.
Congrats to all the winners. Come visit us in the lounge, a lot of very smart, wonderful Kiva team members there.
Indeed. Link to the MP kiva lounge
Wow, there's a whole 'nother world over there!
I believe proper grammar is all y'all!
LOL, you're right! Clearly I need to spend more time in the deep South and get a refresher... I'm long overdue to visit my Mom in Mississippi... hmm I'll have to check airfares...
Wish I could come. Alas, have to work for a change. Ummm. Now, off to make a new loan
Oh ya, have fun all. Still waiting on info for the DO itself, but I'm already planning a trip with my mom too in Sept. But ya know? I think she might still be able to handle a DO too at 80.
That would be AWESOME if she could make it.
I am already signed up for the party but just made my first Kiva Loan to a lady in the Philippines who has 9 children and wants to use the money to maintain/fix her fishing boat. I come from a family of 6. As far as I am concerned she can keep the $25 and spend it on a big bottle of wine!
Great, and thanks for joining Kiva.
Funny that you should mention that she is looking to fix her boat as this is the case that Matt Flannery often uses for how we enable borrowers -- we are there to help them ply their craft -- they do not necessarily need to learn how to do something, rather we aid their abilities, be it fixing their boat (which Matt uses as his example), help them purchase fertilizer, or supplies for their food truck.
Its an amazing program and we are delighted to have you on board (and the great thing, is at Kiva, you can relend the money once the repayments are made!)
Just did my first $25 loan. Love this! Thanks for introducing it to me.
Welcome to the team. Please join us in the Kiva threads.
