I am looking for recommendations for a backpack to carry my 16” laptop along with other travel goodies. My requirements are small: Good set of shoulder straps Fits under the seat Roomy for the laptop and other gear Pass through sleeve so it rides easily on luggage Bonus is TSA fold open My current model is the Caselogic 16" Security Friendly Laptop Backpack (ZLBS-116). It fits all of the above with the exception of good shoulder straps. If I found someone who could replace the straps, I think the bag would be perfect.
I'm a big Briggs and Riley fan for various reasons, but the lifetime warranty is tops. They have several laptop backpacks that may work for you. The version I have appears to be discontinued, but I'd think there are a few options that may answer all of your requirements. Unfortunately, I haven't seen many backpacks that have a TSA folding "pass-thru" option www.briggs-riley.com
have you looked at the eagle creek backpacks? i have 3 and love them all. i can carry my either my macbook air or my larger 17" macbook pro. great wide, padded straps.
While this probably doesn't fit the order above, I'm curious about the following: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/tumi-lemoore-wheeled-backpack/3153772 or any other wheeled backpack that has a pull down cover that gets pulled over the wheels.
I agree. I love my Briggs and Riley, though I use it with the shoulder strap only...haven't pulled the backpack out. It's nice and compact and have lots of pockets for everything I need. I haven't seen any backpack with folding pass-thru option either.
This Tumi bag is attached to me on all my travels - it has been a love affair. http://www.tumi.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4210147&prodFindSrc=paramNav
I like the Pacsafe range. They come in various sizes, but all have great anti-theft features: http://pacsafe.com/www/index.php?_room=3&_action=detail&id=137
I have this Brenthaven. I'm able to carry my laptop plus a change of clothes. My only complaint is that it can be front-heavy (ie. it tips forward easily when standing up.)
I agree. I used to use MEC's Small Carry All Shoulder Bag (CAD$19): http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_...4441773379&FOLDER<>folder_id=2534374302699955 for walking around, but I feel much safer now with Pacsafe's MetroSafe 200 (US$69.99): http://pacsafe.com/www/index.php?_room=3&_action=detail&id=135 It's a bit more expensive, but the anti-slash design, clips and locks are worth it. Plus, it has more pockets to divide up all my bits. Maybe that's a girl thing?
I've been quite happy with my Tom Bihn backpack. Their customer service is fantastic too if the need arises.
I would suggest you to check Bergman Luggage online store. They have wide range of backpacks which can help your cause. Recently, I purchased a backpack from Travelpro luggage sale which can fit 17 inch laptop easily, it has padded built-in sleeve protecting it from any kind of damage or scratch, extra compartments to store other stuff well and most importantly it has an adjustable strap which allows to carry your backpack comfortable without any strain on your back plus quick loop that attaches to other luggage.
I'm using the naneu k4f. It is likely a little too big for your exact needs. I needed a multiple laptop sleeve and camera bag. http://www.naneubags.com/products-by-series/adventure/k4f
Look at http://www.tombihn.com/ they have some great backpacks. I have a few of their bags. I bought a backpack for my granddaughter. She is off to college, but first to Paris for a graduation present.
I have used two different (size) backpacks from a small company named Spire out of Colorado. Their bags aren't cheap, but they are high quality and made in the US. http://www.spireusa.com/ (just a happy customer, not affiliated with them)
i use a kenneth cole reaction...but after reading the ideas here, i think i'll spend some $ and get a better one.
I use this net book messenger bag that i got from all places verizon. But unfortunatley it is dwindling on me and im looking to get a targus bag
