Amex Premier Rewards Gold? Some people are qualifying for 75K MR. Amex Plat. Two different Hawaiian Airlines cards and a Virgin Atlantic card = all three of those convert 1:2 into Hilton points. BA still has a 50K offer.

Admittedly it is a little quiet since we're all used to lots of huge bonuses from 2009 through 2011. The year is young yet. For now, besides the offers that do exist the best thing going seems to be the various shopping / spending methods of racking up Ultimate Rewards, Thank You points and BA Avios.

Yeh..I got the Amex Premier Rewards with the 75K offer and the business gold card with the 75. I also got the British Airways 100K ...I havent done the two Hawaiian cards though nor the Virgin Atlantic card....not a bad idea since I have 100K HHonors points.......was thinking of canceling the Amex Hilton HHonors Surpass card. ..thanks for the tips.

Yeah...saw that deal...but unfortunately, I don't ride the train for any reason---so spending $200 on Amtrak isn't going to happen anytime soon--I did check with a co-worker who uses the train a lot, but he seemed I was running some sort of scam or something hehehe.....so no go.

Have you gone for Chase's latest edition of the United card with 60K?

No I havent...its on my list...I was actually goin' to go for that one, but I figured since they are moving to the Explorer card in the future anyways, that 60K offer will pop up more......

I looked just the other day & there were no airline transfer partners at all. My impression is that CO will come back -- presumably once the UACO dust settles -- subject to the same status-or-minimum-spend restriction.

OP, what about the other Chase hotel cards (IHG, Marriott)?

You don't have to ride the train at all ;). But I wouldn't do that. A ride in F in Amtrak across scenic vista can be one of the most romantic trips ever :)

You need to log into your United account to see the offer. And you need to have at least 1 mile in your United account. Otherwise you will see 40K offer.

    What bank issues that one?

I'd say, you need to get the two Starwood Amexes. Right now might not be the best time because I think the best offer is 25K points after a minimum spend, but for the last two summers, they've had 30K offers, IIRC.

If you do want one of these 25K offers, have me or someone on the board refer you and we'll get 5K points for it also;).

Correct: late July 2010 and 2011, for about a month each.

Nitpick: the Starwood offers are for 10K (first purchase) + __ K (spend/first __ months). The distinction is important, both because the first part is trivial to earn if you're eligible and because the second part can be earned even if you're ineligible for the first-purchase bonus.

Definitely - the minimum spend is substantial. It's not at an all-time low, currently, but it's better now that sometimes - $5000 within six months of the new account opening. When I first did it, I think it was $15,000, which was reasonably difficult for me. I think I had to pay my property taxes with it and eat a fee. But, either way, you do get 10K just for getting the card, and the 15K is after the minimum spend, again, generally.

There is one good thing about Barclays for me - everyone pulls credit reports from Experian except Barclays who pulls from TransUnion. So I have far too many Experian pulls but only two TransUnion pulls in the past 24 months (and those were both CapOne Venture apps, the evil bastards). So maybe I'll go wander and see what other Barclays cards (probably non-travel since they have so few) I can find and rack up some inquiries!

just becareful bro--cuz they are tricky too--you will apply for a high end visa card, and they will (for whatever their reason) give you the lower end of the card with less miles/points.........they pulled that stunt on my wifes application for the USAIR card---only got 10K miles instead of the 40K, which she applied for,.........lameness.

Which means you can get the personal card again any time and earn another 15K whenever you're short on options.

How do you figure that? Won't I get denied cuz I just had it? What is the recommended time frame to churn it?
