A Big Mac is still a Big Mac and is a decent eat every once in a while....
When I'm in a city I don't know and it's late I will go for the chicken mcnuggets. Nothing like a chicken like substance dip in BBQ Sauce.....
I know I'm on the tail end of this thread, but since I spent 5 hrs in that sh%t hole terminal Saturday(one of the few times I wish I had an AC membership) I'm forced to speak up. It's sad enough that Starbucks is the best establishment in T4 and moving it seems like a bone head move (has to be about $$), does the BK want to expand or something??? That being said a re-model is definitely needed and welcomed because nothing about that terminal says HUB to me (other than the AC I couldn't get into). Won't go into detail with my complaints because this thread is about coffee, but I hope they have enough $$ left over to put some lipstick on that pig sty they have AE operating out of.
Maybe the Starbucks is coming back? In any event, a Sammy's Woodfire Pizza is going in that space, and if memory serves from years ago, it's not a bad place.
Having never experienced a Sammy's, I can't comment, but I can guarantee it doesn't serve Starbucks!
I've never found pizza to be a good substitute for coffee, either.
Hoping that both might fit in there . . .
Which I pronounce as "suck all the money out of your pockets for bad food"
French is a funny language, isn't it?
It looks like you are not the only one that shares the opinion on AE. Appears that AA will be adding 4 new gates for AE at LAX.
Los Angeles Terminal Enhancements
American's latest investment of $20 million in our American Eagle terminal will offer added boarding and arrivals convenience with four new gates as well as easy access to our Admirals Club® and Flagship Lounge® in Terminal 4.
I see a Starbucks down at baggage claim now. Is that new? I don't remember seeing that before.
Also, more construction now. The store opposite Hudson News is gone and sheetrocked up.
The very first post in the thread mentioned that the Starbucks would be relocating to.... baggage claim.
Not that I care, AC has free coffee, but it was rather a convenient location. I guess the lease went up.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually bought a cuppa at that Starbucks recently.
Just got off of LHR-LAX. We landed early, and customs wasn't open yet, so we waited for a LONG time on the tarmac, then for a long time in the seriously under-staffed immigration queues. In-flight coffee had worn off by then, and I had several hours of meetings that would go until 7 or 8pm local time, but that really meant 3 or 4am LHR time, and more caffiene was needed. In the few minutes I had whilst waiting for the next rental car shuttle, I was able to pop in & out. I'd have to say, it was quite handy, an easy location to get in and out of.
Hmmmmm I kept thinking to myself, who the heck would use a Starbucks in baggage claim. But that would makes sense if it's early morning and you just landed and you need a jolt.
It's actually pretty nice looking, if very out-of-place. But there is that wait for luggage, so why not?
Isn't there a luggage level coffee place on the other side, like terminal 1 or 2? I feel like I've waited over there for family members and had coffee while I waited.
Never been anywhere at LAX except TBIT and T4, but ORD's T3 has a Starbucks in baggage claim as well.
Strange that customs would be closed in the early afternoon at an airport like LAX.
Not so sure they call that stuff in the AC 'coffee'. Ick.
Well, you know what they say, if it looks like coffee, smells like coffee, then it must be coffee.
More like flavored water...about the same as what they serve on the aircraft; however, it may be a little better in the AC
I connect at LAX T4 a fair bit, and never noticed that one Starbucks is closed. But, I tend to not pay attention to anything, just head up the gate 44 escalator from my AE flight, hit the AC, then to gate 41 or 43 for the LHR or NRT flight.
I find T4 perfectly fine, since it's small and easy to get from one gate to another. I can't recall the last time I wanted to buy food or drink there, though, so that may affect my view of it.
I parse this as "four new gates at the AE terminal" plus "easy access between the AE terminal and T4." But I prefer your interpretation, especially since unless they add a train, how can there be easy access between AE and T4?
That says they're adding an 8oz Burger Bar. I tried to visit their former L.A. location once, but it was closed. They sound great (all-natural, humanely-raised beef, etc.) Now I may actually schedule time to get something to eat at LAX!
Can someone post what food options are available right now? I have a connection there at noon tomorrow and need to know if I should bring my own lunch - thanks!
