This looks too good to be true! So, I spend $2k and get Platinum for life, which includes a complimentary EACH year, along with 2 complimentary room upgrades AND 2 complimentary suite upgrades!!!And of course 1 night in the San Fransisco property in the Presidential suite (or Diplomat suite)...I am soooo tempted but something in the back of my mind says this just can't be true...If it was a mistake air fare I would book and ask questions later but here it's a 3rd party involved that is more of a Groupon clone

I called LS and asked about this. As of right now, 78 had been sold. There are two different rooms, so they could go above 300 theoretically. The guy at LS said "while no one knows for sure how many packages there are, I can't imagine there are too many more." Obviously could have been a sales pitch, but we talked about days left this year and that's when he offered up the opinion. My (random) guess is 100 total.

The real race will be to book as soon as you get the voucher code!

I called living social and they said there is a 5 day refund option. It also says this on their website.

Do you achieve Platinum just by 10 stays? If so, what's a big deal?

I just completed my purchase using NYBanker's link. I don't know how many others have used his link but if I am the first one, then there are two slots left off of that link. I just thought it'd be useful to reply here so that we don't get into the awkward situation of having 5 or 6 people buying off of the same referral link when only a set of 4 can share.

You're right that it's not a big deal. But if you want the lifetime aspect of it, without worrying about stays so you can concentrate on other hotel programs, it's pretty good to know that you have it waiting for you when you need it.

Indeed, 10 stays or 30 nights. I usually manage about 15 nights a year over 4-7 stays only though.
