I finally had a chance to write up a Kiva blog post and posted it this afternoon. I explained a bit about Kiva in general, the MilePoint lending team, the Mutual Fund, and of course, the free $25 trial loan. It's already been reposted by a couple of people, so hopefully we will see some new members as a result. If anyone wants to take a look at what I wrote, you can either use the link to my blog in my signature or CLICK HERE to go direct to the post. Let me know what you think.

I used your link to make a free loan to a lady trying to start a food cart business in Peru! Not really sure how all this works but it costs me nothing and helps someone, so why not! I also joined the Milepoint Kiva Team!

Ok, I've done it - $25 loaned. Question: would you like to write a short intro for Kiva which I will post on my blog? my blog is new and travel related, but it is geared towards runners. If they don't know of Kiva, maybe this would be a good way to get word out? my blog link is below - and you'd have carte blanche on what to write - its your decision (but of course I think it would be cool, or I wouldn't be asking!). thanks again.

incidentally, the loan that I funded was a group in Bolivia who need the funds to buy sneakers for sale...

My post here has a lot from the "About" page on Kiva. I have had a hard time communicating how fulfilling Kiva is, so I decided to let Kiva speak for themselves. Using the loan you referenced above would also be a great tie-in for runners.

    Glad you took the plunge!

Don't hesitate to ask any questions. There are lots of knowledgeable people around here.

For a blog blurb, how about something like this:

Kiva allows ordinary people to help other ordinary people to improve their lives. For just $25 you can invest in helping someone to invest in their business. Billions of people around the world have no access to banking of any sort. When a hard-working person has access to capital to invest in improving their business, they can improve their life and build a better future for themselves and their family. And as they succeed, they pay back the loan. So then you can lend out the same $25 again to help someone else. It's not a donation, it's a loan.

Kiva is about investing in making the world a better place by helping people improve their lives, $25 at a time.
