That is GP481, an EAME promo, and requires "Hyatt Daily Rate". There's also a couple of promos for APAC and Australian properties (specific to those regions.) I'm not tracking those.
Good Day: Just talked to the Diamond desk to get points posted to my account following a one night Hyatt Place stay last week and I was told that "G" bonuses were not available in the month of March at any US properties.
I'm not sure if that agent is correct. There's a post on FT about other GP members getting G bonuses for March. I also have a G1 bonus listed on my folio from HR SFO. I checked out today.
Some California properties have G bonuses...indeed they actually show up on the GP website (if you can get it to actually work). Just search for CA, USA for Hyatt GP offers....and you shall see However the East Coast so far seems relatively barren for Gx offers
According to the web site, the only propery in the entire system that has a G1/G2/G3 bonus right now is Hyatt Westlake/Thousand Oaks California. All the other bonuses listed are not G1/G2/G3, and are region specific or property specific bonuses, which usually require that you book the "Hyatt Daily Rate". I called my usual property and they told me they were having G1, and somebody else called two other properties and they were also told they have a G* bonus now too, so I would call or check with the property right now. -David
I just got a call back from the Boston Harborside and they said they were putting a G2 note on two upcoming stays I have--I had emailed the GM as suggested above to see if there were any available. After coming back to this thread, I called the DL to ask if that particular property had any G bonuses and they said "no"--they actually then called the hotel and spoke to the inside reservations team and they said that I must have been told there was a G2 in error. I had him check a couple of other properties to see if there were any bonuses going on that weren't showing up on the website. Both properties we checked had no bonuses available--One of those, the Denver Airport SS is a regular place for me and they always have bonuses. Just another data point--there do not seem to be any G bonuses to speak of right now.
I'm about to start a hyatt run of hotels for my work trips I couldn't get the links on page one of this thread to work is there an easy way to do this without calling each individual property?
I had the links working, but most of them have expired (2/28/11). You can call GP customer service and have them go through each of your properties--I think you'll find unfortunately that most, if not all, do not have any bonuses. I'm in the same boat--half a dozen March stays, no Gx and no promo announced yet
Well, we need to change that. I voted to have peteropny to be able to add and chance posts in Hyatt Forums
The bit.ly link to the google docs spreadsheet seems to be working. Not sure what you mean. Until Hyatt/GP updates their website with the current list of G1/G2/G3 bonuses, there's really no way to know if a property has a current G1/G2/G3 bonus other than by calling them and asking them. -David
GP Concierge posted on FT today that there are currently no Gx bonuses. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/15995874-post4.html
Yes, I saw that, and I'm not sure what the hell is going on over there. If you call SFO, they tell me they have G1 now. Still, until somebody has a stay and it posts or doesn't post, who knows? So now, during March, basically, other than 1W if you take that, you are staying for base points only? -David
Well, since the Gx generally don't post for me, it would mean sending email to GP CS, who'd then probably reject the claim based on the empty list. Pretty much, but that's not that unusual for me. I usually stay at a hotel because I want to stay there (location, price, ...) and the bonus points are just a small factor in the big puzzle. Of course, having a Gx is better than not having one.
I spoke with Jeff Zidell, Hyatt VP, regarding G bonuses this morning. He prefers to call them "property level bonuses". In short, we will likely see these individual property level bonuses expire as the current set run out. He says Hyatt Gold Passport is reevaluating the offers and looking to reinvent the property level bonuses program. This process will likely take until July as the program is rebuilt and reintroduced. What we may continue to see are the regional bonuses like I posted in this January 28 Loyalty Traveler blog where there are offers for a group of hotels like: U.S. West Coast (2500GP for 2,500 bonus points on two-night stays to Mar 31) Germany (LH397 double miles in Miles & More to April 15), EMEA (GP481 for 2,000 bonus points to April 15) Southeast (10GPX2 for double points to April 24)
I was afraid of this - especially with the problems of them posting correctly - I'm sure that it costs GP quite a bit in time of agents handling these requests for posting.
He might as well call it "The Big FU" as far as I'm concerned. How ridiculous and seriously out of touch they are. -David
How do I use these bonus codes as well as use the IBM rate? When I use both codes together, I see a section for the IBM rate as well as a section for the HPG Offer (but it has much higher rates). TIA
Yes, that's the problem. You can't. All the current promos require "Hyatt Daily Rate". That basically means that only those paying rack rate are eligible for the promo, so that basically excludes anybody using a hyatt prepaid rate, AAA rate or any corporate discount, ... Compare that to the t&cs for the G2 bonus listed at Hyatt Westlake Village. ("eligible rate" vs "Hyatt Daily Rate"). That's why the March promo from Hyatt is "The Big FU". -David
You're welcome. I don't know about you, but I would think that most people are required to use negotiated (corp) rates when they travel, which often include additional benefits. -David
Bonus only on the unrestricted Hyatt Daily Rate is a joke, and definitely inferior to Hilton and Starwood.
