Update 2/21/2013 - With the announcement of the delay of the launch of the DEN-NRT route, I am suspending the RSVP list for this event. However, until we hear what options United is going to allow for changes, I am leaving the event open. If anyone gets information from UA on this front, please post so that we all know what is going on.

Sweet. I'm holding down the fort in E-. Only middles open now in E+ except for 27D bulkhead. They want $139 for that seat. I'll hold out and hopefully get to Gold by the end of the year (most of my big travel is award travel, so SMD4 is a must to help me get there).

Once they clear some of you people into BF, I'll hope into one of your E+ seats . At the end of the day, I will not be sitting my 6'4" self in E- when 3/31 finally arrives.

Highly doubt anyone else will clear into BF on the inaugural. There were rumors that some R space was available early on, but the cabin was quickly zeroed out, likely for dignitaries.

Sooo what you're saying is, "suck it up and buy the E+ upgrade if you want aynthing other than an E+ middle closer to flight time"?

Actually, on this flight, I'm not sure it matters a whole lot, especially if there are a bunch of us like-minded folk on the inaugural, since I can picture a lot of mingling.

OTOH, this isn't a charter either, so there will be - GASP - normal travelers on the flight too, who I'm sure would appreciate some sleep (this likely includes my wife and children who will be traveling with me). No, I'm not officially counting wijomas as my child.

And one more thing. If you are in the front Y section (party group) anyway, I would consider a window seat. The windows really are amazingly large and beautiful on this aircraft. Though of course, it does further complicate things for someone of your height sitting in E-.

Yeah, the only way I'm doing a window is in E+. May be saving the window seat experience for the ride back on 4/7. Sticking to the aisle for the trip over... especially if I stay in E-.

Just out of curiosity for the folks that confirmed, are you using a award tkt or rev tkt?

Many are on mistake B fares that went for $900 r/t a/i. For those of us who missed that golden gift, the flying gods took pity on us and magically opened a boatload of saver space (X/XN). That was quickly snapped up.

J was quickly zeroed out, likely for dignitaries, but there are rumors that some on the B fare also saw R space to upg to J. But that is unconfirmed.

Best I can get from BOS is 1700 or so on a stinky S fare.

Reads like you are, finally, approaching the acceptance stage of you missing out on the B.
