Even when you zoom in on the map, it's showing the wrong streets. Entrance to the hotel is on 41st, between 5th & Madison; closer to 5th.

Wish I could attend but am busy that night. I think it's a great idea and hope to see more events in NYC like this one.

Chances are this is the only SMD3 kick-off event (US-based) that will occur!

Sure, but we go out drinking all the time. :D

Not sure that it was 'that' aspect of teh meetup that Robin was referring to, -- but, of course, I could be totally wrong on that![IMG]

Shouldn't that be: I come home with arms full of wine glasses all the time ? :D

I don't steal the wine glasses. I drink from them:

    But I don't take them home. :p

I did take home 6 bottles of wine in my ScottEVest jacket after a dinner in SEA the day after SMD ended, but I was told that we had paid for them. I proceeded to pour from them most of the night in the lobby after the bar closed, including for several random strangers who stopped by.

I wasn't implying stealing, but the picture does convey so much more then just drinking... :)

Ben, can you pick me up on the way there? My loft isn't far from your loft...

It has to be. Once this event happens it is already kicked-off. Can't have more than one kick-off. ;)

    Why not?

kickoff: beginning: the time at which something is supposed to begin

Once it has begun, it is in-progress. Can't have another beginning unless there is a stop for some reason.

Can't have it in the same location, but there could theoretically be simultaneous 'kick offs'.

With simultaneous being the key word. Like LiveAid.

The NFL seems to manage to have more than one in most games....

    But never in OT.

Except during the playoffs if the first team with the ball kicks a field goal.

Since this has progressed in a peculiar, stream of consciousness, kinda way: since when are NFL OTs (playoffs or otherwise) not sudden death? College isn't (but there are no kickoffs in OT).

Maybe I've been in Asia too long, but please do elaborate.

    Since January 2011

NFL owners voted at the Annual Meeting in March to amend overtime rules for the postseason to a MODIFIED SUDDEN DEATH format. Teams will now have the opportunity to possess the ball at least once in the extra period unless the team that receives the overtime kickoff scores a touchdown on its first possession.

No such thing as too much time in Asia.

I suspect that you simply don't root for the right team which means that there was really no need to have acquired this important knowledge in 2011.

Back on track though... when will the Asia SM DO happen? Aren't y'all bored of this transatlantic stuff?

Just a reminder for those of you that have never been to this hotel, the entrance is on the side street, not 5th Ave.
